Huge joker scar.

Who did the closure?

What exactly do you mean by cobblestoning> that's just further miniaturization of hair follicles..

Those micro bald spots are diffusion happening through out your entire scalp. It's the process of miniaturization, where follicles become 3,2,1 eventually becoming vellus. Afterwards a nice bald spot

since you're already this far, why don't you get another massive FUT and have a semi descent head of hair? I would consider SMP for the scar, and possibly even a little for the top to camoflouge the cobble stoning. idk...

Do you guys know other hair loss forums? I just feel like I'm not getting enough help here and everyone here seems to just joke about everything. I have a sense of humor but this has affected me past that. I tried to get on hairlosshelp but I never get the e-mail from them giving me my password. If anyone can at least help me find other forums I'd appreciate it.

Your best bet is to find a respected hair transplant surgeon, and figure out your options from there.

Im sorry you're not finding much help man. There is really not much advice to give unfortunately. Just know, that luckily no one out there will see the cobble stoning and think of an hair transplant. They will just think it's scalp acne or something.

I think you could try the fraxel laser. perhaps it will help a bit. other than that, I would try dermrolling the top with a .5mm roller, and applying emu oil, or primrose oil, maybe even in combination with mederma for the scarring.

I dermroll my scar all the time, and actually apply a combination of emu oil, merdema and minoxidil. It's definitely helped reduce the appearance. I keep my back at a 3 guard, so it's camoflouged though.

Obviously, the ideal way to deal with a scar is a combo of FUE into it, and SMP.

Since you are 5 months out what you are seeing may be the early signs of grafts starting to push out of your scalp. It is sometimes normal to get red spots and a rough look, with reddish tinting. Have you sent the photos to the hair transplant doctor to see what they think?

As far as the scar, you should not have gotten a FUT if you wanted to have very short hair. That's easy to say now but at this point you can try a better surgeon who will take that scar out and make a better incision with another procedure. I have had two FUT and only have one scar.

Since you are unhappy i would not use the same surgeon again.

Thank you for the advice. I am planning to get a dermaroller for both the scar and cobblestoning. I have read about dermarolling nearly getting rid of scar tissue from several people in other forums. How long have you been rolling for? And would you say your results are satisfactory?

very satisfactory. I have been dermarolling the scar for a bout a year. It has reduced it's visibility when shaven down. I also dermaroll the sides and the top, and apply minoxidil, and/or emu oil or primrose. I personally believe these help reduce inflammation.

Dr Bolton. The worst doctor in the industry... this is what I mean by cobblestoning. Screw the bald spots I'm talking about the dark holes and bumps left on my recipient area

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Just know that you helped other people to not
go to that a**h** doctor you saw.

Try going on an estrogen topical, or Progesterone. Something really heave in your case (dutasteride).
And supplement it with Minoxidil foam. Would start plan B now, because you're just going to have
more problems down the road.

BTT has a lot of transplant information on it. This forum has good news on the latest medications, and
new therapies, as well as information on older therapies.

I don't understand how doctors are still allowed to use fut methods. im sure it has helped some but most people I see on repair forums is due to fut. I have the same scar except in the middle have another one straight across. had these scars since I was 19. my doctor was apart of the iahrs but they are just a front to act like they care about patients. what i learn is once you have one bad hair transplant it so hard to fix. and with the amount of hair loss you have its probably better to cut your losses and fix your scar. i wish i did that. unfortunately i was barely a nw1 would say Norwood.5 side temple thing. and the hair transplant cause shocked loss and turned me into a thin nw3, so all i wanted to do was return to normal like you but took some bad advise from supposedly top doctors. when i saw dr Bernstein in new York he told me do not do anything and just wait until something better comes out in the future and that's what i'm doing. so if you can deal with it i would probably do nothing. you could fue hairs into their but would take a lot, that's a huge scar. some guys have had good result with beard hair. and im sure most people on the street wont notice it is beard hair if you keep it really short. there is a guy on baldthtruthtalk who had great results with fraxel and bht. i believe he went to dr. cole in Georgia. im not a fan of permanent smp just think about your scar that's permanent and now you wish it was gone. I've seen videos where you can see it is a blueish green color and looks awful. i am about to start derma rolling for my scars more now to it is cheap and seems pretty affective. it wont remove the scar but may be able to diminish it to the point that you can shave your head bald and the scar will be slightly notice. google derma roller hair transplant scar and you'll see a guy by the name of LM who only used a derma roller and his scars basically disappeared. i also read silicone sheets are great if you use them while your head is shaved.

but you should contact a doctor and get there medical advise. dr. Bernstein in New York or dr. Shapiro in Minnesota will give you honest advise and tell you your best options. I've never spoke to dr ******** but i have seen his work and he may be the best fue surgeon out there. would also look into him. but you just have to research and not rush this. you have to make your own decision at the end of the day.

i personally think 3d printing will solve scars soon. matter of fact they have recently created fully functional skin. here is the article http://www.nextbigfuture.com/2017/02/bioprinter-makes-fully-functional-human.html
i emailed the group to see if it can be used for scars but i did not get a response. imo i think it will work on scars. but science is moving fast and they will solve scars soon

Going by what you are trying to accomplish I think if you go back to the hair transplant industry you will be digging yourself a deeper hole and I have followed this industry for over 30 years. Look into lasers and speak with some dermatologists. Take care of your skin first and see if you can flatten all those raised areas. In my opinion fue into the scar will not be effective if you choose to do it until you flatten the scar. What happens is the reflection of light at certain angles highlights it which creates that 3D effect regardless if you have hair stubble there or not. In my opinion that needs to be addressed first.

I would also suggest giving hairlosshelp another try they seem to be having some technical issues. They have been around a long time and having been on the forums for close to 20 years now I can say they are a safe place when compared to much of what is out there. I'm new to this forum so I can't judge it.

Just be aware that many of the forums have been over run with marketers so be careful. Many work on the desperation of others and desperation puts you in a poor position. You want to think logically and not emotively. Yes I understand it's hard for you because you want to get on with your life but you must seriously understand that advice from marketers can easily lead you to be worse off.

For example tattooing with the disappearing ink. Well that ink needs to go into the lymph system and if you research it you will find some have connected there cancer to ink in the lymph nodes. That's called going from the pot and into the fire. So slow down and understand what the marketers are about.

Think back before you had your hair transplant. What did you believe and why? How come you didn't understand that you could be in the position you are in now? Did someone in the hair transplant industry explain it to you? What don't you understand about how you may end up worse off did they explain that to you?

Take your time and try to connect with more patients and not marketers. Visit some dermatologists and read up on the subject of skin, scars, and lasers.

Why someone doesn’t come back is impossible to say. Sure maybe some have simply achieved their goal and moved on but very often it’s the opposite. The hair transplant industry works at leading many to believe the goal was achieved similar to the benevolent dolphin theory. The story goes that someone is lost at sea and can’t make it to the shoreline until a helpful dolphin appears and nudges him to safety. Then we hear about the extraordinary experience. What we don’t hear is that maybe it’s just the nature of the dolphin to be playful and many in fact were nudged in the wrong direction farther out to sea and died. We just didn’t hear about them. Many working the forums are simply marketers looking to make money and they are not concerned if you are nudged farther out to sea because there is a good chance no one will hear about it and when a body does pop up well then they do their best to get rid of it. So on the forums they are like dolphins making their silly happy noises and hey we all love dolphins. They are like Flipper and Flipper was always doing good things at least that is the image that was presented.

Bioprinting skin…………..hmmm from over 30 years of personal experience I will say to you never lose hope something is coming you just don’t know exactly when. With this in mind you absolutely do not want to be the first one in the pool. It needs to be out a few years then consider it. Take this seriously it’s not a joke you don’t’ want to end up worse off then you are now so always wait and have what you see confirmed over a period of time.

You can look up Aztec on hairlosshelp he had some recent laser work along with fue into the scar and seems very excited with his results.

Some have had some luck with Kenalog injections into the scar to reduce the height. I’m certainly not advising this but look into and you will learn more.

Most importantly many of these forums are overrun with marketers many simply don’t know it. They believe it’s just guys helping other guys out. Don’t trust anyone even with dermatology. If it was me I would visit as many as possible because chances are they are all going to tell you something different. So then you take everything they say and you take all the extensive reading you do over at least a year or more and then you start using logic to make a decision that doesn’t bury you. You start to look for a pattern and very often a pattern leads to the truth. Example if 4 doctors say exactly the same thing and you read the same thing in 6 different books it might be worth giving it a shot.

Do yourself a favor and confide in someone close to you ideally a family member. You simply made a mistake I made the same mistake 30 years ago along with hundreds of thousands of other guys. What keeps everyone silent is the shame and that is why I am very close to bringing a book to market along with some other things I’m working on. On a personal level it all disgusts me. Once you start confiding in others what you will find is they will support you because they are your family and it’s normal for family members to love other family members regardless of the mistakes they might have made. I have also read up on cognitive therapy as research and I would suggest reading up on the subject to help you get through this all.

You can also pull up some Joe Rogan youtube videos where he discusses his own mistakes with hairloss along with maybe catching a glimpse of his scarring. It actually looks very good and I’m guessing he has some treatments to help conceal it.

Hope this is helpful. Don’t lock yourself in a room it’s the worst thing to do. Even if you need to wear a hat go out and be with people.

I do have a very long thread on hairlosshelp titled “Follow My Major Repair”. It doesn’t really apply to your situation but none the less you can learn something from it. Maybe I will post my experience here but it becomes a lot of extra work.

BTW what you can try for now and there are no guarantees is if you do not want to wear a hat then applying some type of skin cream that will leave the surface matte might be helpful. By making the surface matte you are reducing the reflection of light which reduces the visual effect of the scarring/cobblestoning. If you are familiar with wall paints then you would know that high gloss paints accentuate any surface defects while paints that are flat do exactly the opposite they tend to hide defects on the surface. It the same principle. Let me know if you need help finding a brand but there are several so maybe test a few.

Just take the time and take my advice into consideration. If you listen to one of the schmucks that works in the hair transplant industry chances are you will be getting the same advice that initially landed you in hot water. Sounds like they left some of it out which is marketing fraud as stated by FTC standards. Yes it all sounds convincing especially if you are desperate and that is why it works for them. Marketers are parasites............speak with doctors and read including books.

Trying signing up again a HLH. Not trying to send you there but since you have already tried maybe the response is in your spam folder.

I sent an e-mail to poster Aztec and if you respond to his thread maybe he can be of help since he actually has gone through some laser procedures while adding fue to his scar area.

@Tano1 my bad bro I don't come on to often now a days but yeah I can relate exactly to your story. just got to keep moving forward. im telling you bioprinting will solve this nightmare soon. dr bernstein did not give me any information, but he did tell me that pilofocus would not work, and he was right. he also says that its not a question if hair loss will be cured, but when it will be cured. I think he knows it will happen soon. i went with 1.0mm didn't want to go to deep but i only used mine once. time make this better trust me, and soon you'll be back to your old self.

tano I think your move towards just smoothing out the skin makes sense. Don't end up deeper down the rat hole with another hair transplant procedure or having one of these idiots inject ink into your head.

Joe Rogan's scar looks pretty good along with the recipient area and I would be surprised if he had some work trying to smooth out all the skin.

I feel very sorry for you mate!

In my opionen you should move to a very good hair transplant clinique like dr koray(asmed) or h&w...
Asmed is very familar with planting units above the scar.

All best to you
