hiding shiny scalp

Hi all
I have diffuse thinning and I recently got a buzz cut. It was great to get rid of all that horrible thin hair but I ended up looking very stupid. Thick hair on the sides with thin hair on the top and the shiny scalp not helping the situation. However, I think I might be able to pull this off, if I go very short back/ssides and something to reduce shine on top.

Does anyone have any experience with concealing a shiny scalp?
