High creatine? Low Zinc

My recent blood work showed high creatin. I have been playing with the idea of starting Propecia but I am uncomfortable with the possible sexual sides. Does hight creatin indicate I am at more or less risk of developing sexual sides? My Zinc was too low btw. Also my testosteron was 23. Is that good? I didn't check my estrogen levels, I should do that. Is there any connection between testosteron and estrogen and Kreatin? btw I have alot of body hair, and I have to shave 2 times a day and I have VERY little body fat. Could one assume I have alot of DHT and not much estrogen? Does that mean I am a good or bad candidate for Propecia?? Pls help me. With all the sufferers of propecia sides, there must be some pattern of who is more likely to develop them?? btw, I have chronic Prostatitis.

Your testosterone level is normal. 30 nmol/L is top of the range. Colin found a study which revealed a correlation between creatine and DHT (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19741313). Creatine supplement increased the DHT level, but the testosterone level was unaffected. DHT keeps estrogen under control. Zinc is involved in metabolism. Elevated estrogen level supresses the testosterone production via negative feedback through the HPTA. No one knows how you'll react to Propecia. I recommend that you map LH, FSH, testosterone, estrogen, prolactin and SHBG before you begin treatment with finasteride.

So there is no data that suggest that man with high DHT and low estrogen, BEFORE starting propecia, are more or less likely to develop sexual sides on finasteride??

No, unfortunately not, but I guess you're safer then most, if that's the case. I believe that body fat/aromatase activity is the only thing that truly matters in relation to risk of side effects.

But my 23 testo is normal? Is it rather high or rather low? I am only 28 so it should be rather high?

Yeah, it's mid-high range. The number depends on several factors; your age, probably size, and time of the day your blood test was done. Have you taken any medication or supplements which affects hormones, and got into some sort of trouble? If not, this is a waste of time. Map your hormone levels and take the plunge, or don't.

No, I haven't taken any drugs. I am 28 years old, very thin nd the blood test was taken 10 in the morning... I understad that young males should be in themid-high levels?

I would say that. Everything else aside, it all depends on symptoms. If you don't have symptoms of hypogonadism, your testosterone level is good. You're 28, very thin as you say, and have no symptoms of hypogonadism. 23 nmol/L on a range from 8 - 30 nmol/L isn't bad.
