obviously not including famous people or people use it for business
but it's so cringe
imagine being a grown man and posting a selfie over the age 25
how is that possible?
same for women i guess as well

If you have the looks for it I don't see anything wrong.
Don't forget that Dan Bilzerian is the guy with the most followers on instagram.

yeah i know, the other dude mentioned him...
well i also dont know what people do on social media...
i can tell you what i do: i follow artists that are interesting and things that could be helpful/interesting for work... and friends only...
when i upload something it is either something i created, or some pic from whatever place i went to (what everybody else does^^)...
no selfies, or probably anybodies face on my social media...

of course i used it to get my work out, but that was of course futile... now i do keep it up in case someone tries to google me (like potential customers, or companies)... that is also why that thing stays clean and no booze or party pictures^^

Very strict approach from you. I do what you said, but odd pictures of me and family/friends too, just not 24/7. Some of the guys/girls I have on my social media have a new selfie everyday, just ordinary people I know but with thousands of followers, if it makes them happy why not but life should be more than that for them hopefully!

lol yes... well i am just not into pictures of people, so i dont even have any...
i think i got about ten max, and except the one of my gf, the other ones i got sent by someone (pics with friends)... i never take any pic of any person, i am just not good at it...
and i am also not a family guy...
that is my approach of course, i dont mind people posting themselves or their families of course...

influencers overdo it, it is annoying... only thing worse are wanna be influencers...

i actually used to flag everyone who posted a picture of me, especially with tags... mu boss doesnt need to know what i am doing in
my leisure time...
there was a time when there were a lot of people taking pictures where we were drinking (it is a somehow famous area, not crowded, regulars mainly/only, but somehow some people think they can take pictures... it is actually prohibited there...) an i flagged every picture and asked insta to remove it, when i saw myself somewhere...

The reality is though we are all in each others pictures, okay that place you mentioned, taking pictures was prohibited, but generally in public places it is allowed. And if you go to any nice place, plenty of people will be snapping pictures and naturally it won't just be their family/friends in the pictures always. Do you have self image issues which is why you don't take pictures or is this how you are too? Funny you flagged all the pictures :p

I agree with you about wanna be influencers it's quite pathetic indeed. Same time though an insta of only hobbies/work reads like a google page rather than a personal one. Maybe that's how you wish it to be and don't want your boss to see your life, in my work and life in general, people have a mixed insta which shows that they lead a balanced life. A bit of everything and not over used Insta seems to be the ideal approach.

yeah cant help but being in somebodies picture probably...
i just dont like it, thats all...
i dont take pictures of people, because i am pretty bad at it, thats all... i am good at taking pictures of “things”, though...

absolutely fine with mixing everything, just not my cup of tea...
i also dont want anyone to show up where i go in my leisure time^^

i actually think mixed insta is what most do and somehow also the best/easiest way to do it for most...
also way better than insta thots who post pictures of things they didnt pay in places they could never afford to go^^
i think there is some law against that now, though, or they started some regulation in some countries now, like you got to actually state what you bought and what you got for promotion, something like this...

should have started with a way different concept back when i started insta, though... or like with a concept at all^^

It's the way of the world now. And it's slowly spreading like cancer. Started w young people, and has moved into older people too. Think Facebooks takeover from myspace. And now ig is becoming more of a norm than before. Soon you'll be in the minority. Who cares.

Out of all the things I have done or seen, only a miniscule is on Insta, say less than 1%. But I still keep the mixed Insta I describe, not only because this is what I enjoy but presenting a balanced life has a way with career and meeting others too. It's just odd not to have any social media or a super secretive one for someone relatively young, I wouldn't judge anyone without getting to know them if that was the case... but chances are something happened to them in the past or they have some kind of fear/dislike about themselves. Thots and random pics in places is another story and yes it's ridiculous. Generally girls love to update Insta way more than guys, even ordinary girls, like their every move to any place is documented, showing even their different makeup, nails, clothes e.t.c. They are mainly doing it to compete with other girls weirdly and show they are prettier, happier, more successful with an attractive educated man etc. Many are in happy relationships and couldn't give a **** what others guy on social media say except to build up their likes.

How can a grown man be posting selfies n sh*t
Really low iq low value men
That's because you associate selfies with looks and validation seeking behaviour, it's not always the case anymore except for little kids or grown ups who are still kids. I do find it embarrassing when I see a middle aged woman trying to pose like a 20 year old with silly GIFs or edits. But generally most older people putting selfies are just doing it so their friends/family know what they are up to and distant friends. It's become a way of connecting like it or not and harmless fun. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with using it in moderation and living your life. I even have a grandpa age guy on mine (now retired from his good job) and he puts selfies, pictures of plants in his garden, his young family or inspirational quotes, personally I think it's sweet that he's doing that and his embraced new and old society.

The only people who should be using Insta 24/7 are people who have a business/work page or influencers or whatever they are - for them it's about money and advertising. Others should not overindulge in it as it wastes hours and in your case you're likely to develop a worse mental state.
