Yep same situation, besides switching to foam haven't found a better solution yet.

I remember those days XD
I apply mines like the guy in this video but I apply most to the center of my scalp. It seems to do the trick.

Yes its a huge mess. Even worse is after it dry's. it leaves a white residue on the hair and the hairline area. Its a major pain in the *** and I've stopped using min. Can't be bothered anymore.

You have given up finasteride too, due to apparent acceleration of hair loss. Lets hope for your sake that you don't actually have an accelerated pattern of hair loss as you will soon have to accept being bald like Kojak.

I apply drop by drop. This is what I do. Drop or two on each temple, then rub it in. Drop or two on one section of my crow, then rub it in,... I do this until I cover the entire top of my head. If you are doing just the hair line you may not even need to use the full 1ml.

The one week I used Minoxidil on my hairline I did that, worked pretty well. It kind of made my skin change in the hairline area though, nothing too bad. Just lost its shine and felt tighter.

I'm on lipogaine and I usually put 1 ml in the morning around the front, and 1 ml at night around crown and rest of the middle. I don't dab it like the guy in the video..
I used to put lipogaine only around the temples where my balding was the worst, but ever since I started putting it all over my head, my shedding has gone insane. Should I just put it on balding areas?

When you put minoxidil on the crown (or any other specific area), how do you make sure you get the same area each time? If you accidentally apply it to a diameter smaller/larger from time to time is that going to mean trouble ? It would seem impossible to me to be that precise.

I think you are squirting way too much at 1 place all together. Drops at different places and then slight massage i guess is a good way

I apply with the dropper right on the scalp and pat it. I keep my head tilted slightly to make sure it doesn't run into my eyes. I usually only apply immediately after a shower and now dry. I don't have any residue issues, just make sure you accommodate for your head shape and you should be good.

Apply 0.5 ml at each temple and tilt my head so it drips towards the centre of my hairline. Then tilt my head back so it drips back towards my crown. Then do the same in the mid anterior region but use three separate drops, roughly 0.33 ml each, tilt my head back and let it drip towards my crown.

If you use to little it just gets stuck in your hair whereas larger drops will adhere to your scalp for precise controlled dripping action!

All fine suggestions. My hair is shaved so sometimes I use a woman's blush brush to control any minoxidil.overflow and although some is wasted/absorbed it does a fair job at even distribution.

I used to have the same problem. And the white flakes from buildup in one area after squeezing too much at once.
I still measure with the dropper, then just dab my scalp all over. I dont squeeze or nothing, just dab. It does come out, a little at a time which is what you want. Its not like theres lots in the dropper anyways so it wont take that long.
Then I just rub it around with my finger.

I thought about using the foam but with the liquid you know exactly how much your using. There is a way to measure. How are you supposed to measure with foam. And my hair is not buzzed so Im thinking Ill waste more not directly on my scalp.

Well my dermatologist prescribed my a brand that uses a spray, each puff is 0.125 ml so I use 8 puffs per application,2 on each temple and then 4 more on my scalp(I don't apply it to the crown, might start? im only 16 and i think my crown is pretty dense)

Hee Guys,

I just started using minoxidil 5% and I was wondring if you could sum up all the issues you experience related to applying minoxidil?:)

I am trying to find the best way possible!

Cheers!

I obviously have very sensitive skin. If I happen to make a minor contact with my face/forehead, I tend to get tiny lumps and this is particularly evident immediately below hairline. As mentioned above, drop by drop and massage in as you go seems to be the way, although your hand is constantly 'contaminated' with Minoxidil during this process and you'd have to avoid touching anything else.
I had been using 12.5% Minoxidil cream from Belgravia Centre London which limits this problem (and my skin looked noticeably better). But the trade-off is the length of time to apply the cream and dificulty of seeing where you've already applied. My skin is already getting worse again from switching back to the liquid Minoxidil, but I shall persist more.
