Hi, I'm a bit unsecure about my hair lately and I want to hear how bad do you think my hairloss is. I noticed it early 2020 and I want to know if it's going too quick or if it's slow (I have no idea). What norwood do you think I am?
I took the first picture today and it got me worried, I think it looks like a norwood 3. I had hopes I'd still have a decent amount of hair at age 30 but now I'm losing hope, do you guys think it's still possible without treatment? (I can't do treatment, my body reacts badly). There are only 2 males in my family that are bald (NW4.5) but their baldness started after the age 40. One of them is my dad. Thanks

could this be just a temple recession that will stay like that for a while? I don't see many hairs lying around (just 10 - 20 hairs every shower) and crown seems fine.

You could ask your Dad whether he had this sort of temple recession in his early 20s.

It could but if you want some insurance it won't you will have to start taking finasteride. I would go topical if you are afraid of the possible sides. Still have plenty of hair to save.

I asked but my dad didn't care at all about hair loss so he can't remember anything. unfortunately I'm not like him and keep checking my hairline 30x a day this drives me insane

thanks I guess that's the only way.... my father's hair is like the picture below but about 20% more dense, I always thought I would follow the same pattern, live my life and start my hairloss at least at age 40 and recede slowly. seeing it start in my early twenties is a bit depressing although I also feel a bit lucky since I still have hair

Judging by the first photo on the left, I would personally consider getting on treatment.
Thanks I'm considering topical finasteride but I'm not sure yet.

I have a lot of dandruff and some pimples in my scalp (I don't know if it is exactly pimples but it feels like it). Could this be causing my recession? If I manage to cure this, could I slow down significantly my hairloss without fina & min? As I said I actually wouldn't mind hairloss at age 40 or 50, but I'm in my twenties and it just feels like it's going too quick :/
thanks people.

Nobody likes hair loss at any age. If you care now you will care later. Maybe not as much but you will care.

If it's any relief your hair seems very dense and healthy. I would say you are a NW2 atm due to the temporal loss, but it looks very healthy elsewhere. You might be able to hold on for a long time if you start hair loss prevention now. Ketoconazole shampoo can really help with dandruff. Follow House's advice and start with topical finasteride if you're worried about side effects. Definitely avoid websites such as Propeciahelp cuz you can end up getting the Nocebo Effect, which is very real. Consider starting with 1 mg finasteride thrice a week if you cannot afford topical, that's the dose I decided to get started with after watching some videos from The Hair Loss Show's two doctors, cuz I was worried about sides too at first.

Do you know if ketoconazole shampoo also help with recession?

Guys I'm thinking about going the natural route for a last try before topical finasteride. Since my hairloss isn't too agressive I thought maybe I could slow down or stop this temporal hair loss with something like rosemary oil or pumpkin seeds but I'm unsure. Also I saw the other post about Zix and thought if I should give it a try. Actually I tried something similar for a few months (my derm recommended it) a solution called Neosil which had a bunch of vitamins and it included Zinc and B6, but I don't think it did much (my hairline continued receding)

You got male pattern baldness. If you don't use finasteride and minoxidil now, chances are you are going to continue to bald. I have seen cases like yours and they don't end well most of the time. But you have to do what is right for you.

thanks. I already tried minoxidil but it gave me strong heart palpitations so I quit. Also finasteride scares me a lot and I don't think I would ever be confortable with it :/ guess it's time to accept my unavoidable destiny.
