How Did You Experience Finasteride's Side Effects? Did They Stay After You Stopped?

I'm experiencing the early stages of hairloss at 24, something like a norwood 1 or 2 at the moment. I'm worried that my hair loss is pretty aggressive so I'm looking into my alternatives at the moment. However, I'm very confused about finasteride as some people describe hellish side effects while others try to convince you that practically no one gets serious lasting sides. So I'm wondering: which side effects have people on here experienced? What can I expect if I go on the drug? And most importantly, which side effects have people experienced lingering after they stopped taking finasteride, and for how long?

For example, some form of erectile dysfunction seems common. But a lot of people say that losing morning wood is the extent of it, while others suggest that it will be hard to get an erection permanently after taking the drug. Which one of these is more trustworthy?

Well, for me personally my libido was slightly lower and semen volume was greatly reduced. I could still get an erection when i wanted though so it was no big deal for me really. Im not currently on finasteride, im on dutasteride but the side effects are the exact same. Personally i would always advise people to give it a shot and try not too get too worked up and scared of the horror stories.

Interesting, thanks for the input. What is dutasteride and how is it different from finasteride?

I took finasteride for 3 weeks back in October 2018. Lost morning erections the morning after the first pill. As I continued taking, my libido tanked to nothing, my penis became completely numb and shrunken and it has stayed like that ever since. Brainfog is really the worst of all though. Please don’t do it. It’s not worth it. I’m still suffering 5 months later with no end in sight.

Id suggest you to try it, because there's nothing else to do to save your hair besides minoxidil, which also had potential sh*t side effects.

If you get any sides, you can always quit.
