How Do You Apply minoxidil To Scalp When You Have Longer Hair?

From my previous experience of trying to apply topicals except for shampoo, it's extremely hard to get it down to scalp, since most of it just gets stuck in your hair, which also makes it look oily/sticky, which is absolute sh*t

Also what version is better to go for - foam or liquid one? What are the advantages?
