How do you know which type of hairloss you have?

I think my mother has traction alopecia and my dad has androgenetic alopecia.

I'm noticing some hairloss in me (I'm just 21). I can't determine which of these two types my hairloss is.

Of course, everytime someone gets a hairloss, the default assumption is that it's androgenetic alopecia.

I'm starting to think that it could be traction alopecia since I'm a heavy comb user. My bangs fall down on my forehead, and I almost constantly brush my hair up. The temple is the thinnest part of my hair actually.

What's the best treatment for this type of hairloss?

If it actually is traction alopecia, stop pulling your hairs out, you nut! Go easy on the comb. What more can you do? If the follicles have been damaged by this, I'm not sure if you can bring them back.

I wouldnt rule out androgenetic by any means tho.

Hair follicles can take quite a beating and keep on ticking... I would rule out traction alopecia right now because it's probably not the case. If your father has male pattern baldness, and any other relative has it....then you can be almost 100% assured that it's Androgenetic Alopecia.

But don't take my word for it.
