How Does Hair Know It Is Dependent On Minoxidil Or Not?

Just curious why hair grown from minoxidil knows that it needs minoxidil?

Let's say you start minoxidil, then stop minoxidil and start dermarolling instead, will you not keep the minoxidil hair?

1. Maybe because they are being pushed into the Anagen phase( growth phase) for a longer period.
2. Derma rolling didn’t stop the post minoxidil shedding in my case
