Sure, from a practical point of view because of weather and the sun I can see why people use beanies or baseball caps but when dealing with hair loss I find it extremely discouraging to wear anything on my head. First of all, it makes your hair look like a mess and most importantly, if you are not working outdoors it's common courtesy not to wear a hat at the office or at walmart or wherever you work.
So the uncomfortability of showing of your garbage hair is just being pushed further ahead until you need to take it off at work when you have charged up all that nervosity and if things couldn't get worse, you are doing it in front of people you know, not people you will never see again on the bus (if you live in a big city I guess).
Once again, wearing a baseball cap because it's your style or whatever is fine I guess, because you probably did that before balding anyway.
I use hats way less since I noticed I was balding.
