How Effective Will Finasteride Be At Thickening My Hairline?

Hi everyone,
I noticed a receding hairline properly around 3 months ago and after careful consideration decided to get on generic finasteride around 3 weeks ago also aided by a 10000 mcg biotin tablet. I am also using Nizoral 2%. I have not however been using minoxadil as it seems like a lot of hasle. I have read on these forums that finasteride is not very effective at regrowing the hairline. However my temples are still covered in smaller hairs and I was just wondering how effective it usually is at thickening these hairs. I would also like to know how long I should stick with finasteride before moving onto dutasteride or whether to incoporate it straight away as this seems to have had some profound effects on regrowth in the hairline.
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Find attached photos on day one of finasteride. My natural hairline did dip in the middle so take this into account when assessing the recede.
Thanks

I think you need to add some sort of hair growth stimulant. You're not going to get any regrowth otherwise. Minoxidil foam hasn't been too much of a trouble as I thought it would. You don't have long hair so I think it won't be that difficult. Just focus on areas where you want to get back hair. Avoid getting it onto the forehead. I use minoxidil 5 days a week. The only times I skip is the next day after I derma roll.

Thanks for the reply, how successful has minoxidil been for you as i spoke to a dermatologist and they said it was only effecting in a fairly small proportion of people.

I've only been on it 2 weeks or so so I'm not the best person to ask. It might be my imagination, but it seems a tiny bit better, however I've been using biotin.

Your dermatologist is right, however, I still believe it works. I believe that many people who are on minoxidil would've lost more hair or lost it sooner than if they weren't. It's tough to gauge how well something works during hair loss. However, I believe some sort of "growth stimulant' would greatly help your cause. I think of hair loss the same way you would try to keep a good lawn of grass. You eliminate any pests that may attack it and you try to nourish it as well.
