Zimmy, what is 'Oz Brew'? Is that some proprietary concoction like Lewenberg's Formula or is it simply a taste for Australian beer?... and if the latter, do you drink it or drizzle it on your scalp?
I agree with the concept of shampoo cycling. Unfortunately, many shampoos nowadays are marketed to address specific hair issues, like dry hair, or greasy scalps, or thin hair, or brittleness, etc.
The problem is that most of us suffer from more than one of these conditions. As a results, half of the shampoos we use add body by adding buildups into our scalp and the other half strip the buildups and as a result reduce body.
I recommend using quality shampoos such as Paul Mitchell, etc, that take into account the overall health of the hair and not just address one specific issue cosmetically. Cycling is good as it cleans and treats the hair with a variety of chemical combinations... but keep in mind that if you condition your hair, use the same brand conditioner as the shampoo you used that day as same brand shampoos and conditioners are meant to work in tandem... not only in terms of effect, but also in terms of scent! I use a combination of Redken products. They are expensive, and don't do anything to counter my hair loss, but they do help make the thinning areas of my hair (usually slightly more curly and brittle) maintain the same texture as the non-thinning areas of my hair... cosmetically, they have been great for me. I cycle between two redken shampoos and conditioners, and nizoral, and occasionally apply a redken leave-in conditioner specifically formulated to prevent breakage. Despite the cost, they leave my hair however thin feeling smooth and velvety and healthy. I'm a strong believer that our battle is not just in promoting growth below the scalp, but also paying close attention to the health of our hair above the scalp as well. Don't neglect your hair just because it has grown out!
I suggest you experiment, try several quality brands, and see what cleans your hair best and still leaves your hair feeling good to the touch.
