Hi,

I use Hair Rebirth, which is similar to Toppik but its thinner and I am quite satisfied. Actually I am a fan of concealers as a solution for hair loss coverage.
I am wondering if Couvre is something worthy that I could use to support the results of the fibres..
I have heard many opinions..good and bad. Some guys said that it is just like paint your head....some other guys are fan of Couvre....its really strange!
My question is: How I suppose to use Couvre? If I am right its a cream with colour and I have to put it all over my head, under the hair...Is it quite difficult if you have hair in your head? Does it add volume to your hair too? Or just paint your scalp to hide it? Any danger???? :freaked2:

If you still have a descent amount of hair it's very difficult not to get on your hair in my opinion, when it's on the hair it may make the hair look a touch thicker but it also leaves it looking a bit chalky and dry, it rubs off the hair with slightest touch, it also has a bizarre smell that can become a bit sickening, some love it but it didn't work for me unfortunately.

thanks man...Actually I have read your own experience with Couvre.
Although I am happy with the results I have using fibres, I will try Couvre and Dermatch just to see if I can do something more for my hairline...

I will try to put a very very little amount of Couvre to see if it can thicken my hair in the hairline (withouth touching it to my scalp) I will try the same with Dermatch too (probably I will have better results with Dermatch). But I definitely dont need these too products for the rest of my hair, where I use something similar to Toppik and I am satisfied. I plan also to buy Thicker Fuller Hair Sampoo and Gel and thats all!

If I want to try Couvre to paint my scalp too, maybe is a good idea to use the light brown colour, although my hair are darker. Because the light brown will eliminate the contrast and it will be more undetactable

Ok, I just got done using the couvre I bought for the first time... It is indeed very hard to not get it on your hair when applying it, but thats also due to me being a noob and not knowing exactly the best method to apply it. I used a plastic grocery bag around my hand (or a ziplock bag) since I didn't have disposable plastic gloves. This made it hard to get it on my scalp and rub it in without rubbing it over my hair. THe next method I'm going to try is put a dab on a wet q-tip and rubbing it in that way, I have a feeling that would work great! The plastic gloves prolly works good too. I haven't noticed the crazy smell UK78 is talking about, it doesn't smell bad. So how are the results? Pretty darn good! My hair on top does kinda have a wet look still, and looks slightly darker than the sides of my hair, but again this is due to me getting it on alot of my hair. If I applied toppik on top of what I just did, it would look awesome. I am amazed by both of these concealers (first 2 I've tried). I should start taking before and after pics. If I took a before pic of how my hair is when its messy and dry, like before I take a shower, people would say wow your hair is quite diffused. After I style it, even without the products, it looks quite a bit better, but not anywhere close to how big of a change it is with the concealers.

the fact is that the only way for somebody to see if a product works for him is to try it!!
I will place an order and buy Dermatch, Couvre, Toppek Sampoo, Couvre Sampoo and Nanothik.
I know that this will cost me about 150euro, that means about 165 US Dollars or something like that...but I really want to find some products to further improve the look of my hair...
I am in the same situation dude, ..after shower my hair look quite thin. Then I put a hard gel and much of Hair Rebirth fibers and I have thick hair (depending also how much of the Hair Rebirth I use)...but I want to try Dermatch and Couvre just for the hairline..and the other products to thicken my hair the days I dont use Nizoral.
So, I suppose the best way to use Couvre is with plastic gloves or something like that. ..thanks to everybody.. :jump:

No gloves needed....just put Couvre all over bootom of applicator and start with crown completely cover crown then moved toards front and lightly "buff" the applicator for just a light "film" of Couvre. Make sure even all entire scalp...that is the key. The stuff is a GodSend!

Wash hands with soap after....no issue.

the problem with me is that i dont need couvre for my scalp cause i am a diffuse thinner but i can have a thick-looking hair using fibers. I need couvre and/or dermatch only for the hairline.
My only question is if it would be better to take the light brown Couvre, although my hair is dark brown/black.
The reason is that using the light brown for the scalp, it would be more undetactable and it would provide me with coverage of the scalp at the same time. So, even if somebody see me scalp through my hairline, it would be better for my scalp to have a light brown colour, rather than a black one, which looks more like a paint......

Nah man, if your is hair dark brown/black...just get the dark brown couvre. It matches pretty good for me, as does dark brown toppik. See my hair is ridiculous thin if its dry and I don't style it. When I get out of the shower, I always blowdry my hair to add volume, and then hairspray it. That intself make my hair look better, but its definitely still thin of course. Then I add the couvre before hair dryer, and toppik afterwards, and its unbelievable how different it looks.

Let me add though, if you are trying to thicken your hair line, dermatch is probably your best bet, supposedly the applicator it comes with is quite good as well.

Yukoncornelius, I totally understand what you are saying about the difference before and after using these concealers. I love these products...Although I am only a diffuse thinner without a very serious problem, thin hair destroys my psychology..thats why I had also a transplant 1.5 year ago, although the doctors said that I didnt need it...But after discovered the fibers product...I can not go out without it..!! My opinion is that now and then these products are detectable but it is definitely worthy. I love them. But the most guys are doing the SAME MISTAKE...they use i.e. Toppik without the locking spray!! And they think that a common spray can have the same result...FALSE!! These locking sprays are specially designed to make your hair and the fibers appear like one body, and they allow u to comp your hair in order to bind them (the fibers with the hair..)..Sorry man but I insist to try a much lighter colour of couvre. I need just a shadow to hide my scalp....I will Dermatch too, but only to the hair of hairline... :hairy:

I'm just telling you to match the color of couvre to your hair. If you hair is almost black, getting light brown would not be good IMO. A normal hairspray works for toppik with me, infact I'd never buy the fiberhold spray they sell before buying the spray maximizer. If anything, the fibers from Toppik end up going down to my scalp. If you look at the physical attributes of the Toppik fibers, you would have to be using a horrible hairspray if it couldn't bond them to your hair. Thats just my opinion though, I too would like to find out if the fiberhold is truly different. Its good you just have diffused hair, I have a feeling you don't have much hair loss :p Its a struggle for people like me who are only 21...

my friend, yes..my situation is stable, I have about 2.5 years to see any serious hair loss..but I wish I was at your age, cause now I would have much more hair and I would had avoided the transplant..
My hair loss started at your age and for the next two year I was just without help and feeling awful...the doctors..at least in my country,..dont recommend finasteride..so I started minoxidil after I had lost many many hair...I used minoxidil about two years (i didn like it although its a good product) and then I started finasteride...then I had the transplant and with the use of concealers I feel quite well...But, as u see I went through many ways to manage to help my hair...so its up to you...I am 27. I am not an old man...and I am using finasteride 2.5 years...thats not so good to think about....but i am taking the risk...

Well I started losing my hair at 18, I've been on propecia for over 3 years now. You're very lucky to be in your position, believe that for sure. I will definitely go bald eventually, I'm just trying to prolong that till I'm in my mid 20's or so where I look a bit older. Had I not been on propecia since 18, I guarantee I'd be bald on top right now. Shave my head, get tan, quit worrying :)

I dont know how severe is your problem, but with hair loss you never know....finasteride in conjuction with other products like minoxidil or ketoconazole can make your situation stable...
But if you can not be happy with your hair and make you feel sad all the time, then to shave your head and get tanned is not so bad idea...(Actually I would never shave my head cause my head has a bad shape...and I dont look good even with short hair...but your idea about tanning is very good,..I have never thought about that....I know that this is a silly comment but: a boy in my age shaved his head when he was 17-18, got tanned and made his body very musculine...and he looks very good...like Vin Diezel..actually he is dating with the best girls...maybe its a silly example but if you think that this is your style too, go for it..!!)
