How Likely Will Finasteride Halt A Receding Hairline?

I have been on it for 4.5 months and for a while it seemed to have stopped completely but recently i feel its started again. Will i likely just recede at a slower pace than normal or does it stop it for most people, would dutasteride be a better option?

It's all over the place. I've read that finasteride doesn't work at all for the front of the head, but Dr. Bernstein (hair loss expert) says it should because the mechanism for hair loss is the same for the front as the vertex. He says this in a easy to find YouTube video. That makes sense to me.

It may or not work for you! Dutasteride works for my hairline where finasteride did not. Depends on your genetics. Also the studies for finasteride and minoxidil hairloss was only studied on the crown. Not because it doesn't work for other areas but but because it was easier to track the results

How long were u on finasteride before switching? As i was thinking of changing at 1 year if i didnt at the very least stabilise but then i have heard stories of dutasteride destroying hairlines which makes no sense to me
