How long after stopping finasteride/dutasteride did ED take to go away?

Hey guys, would really appriciate some advice here. It's as the title suggests. My story is that I was on Propecia for two months before erectile dysfunction started. Thought I'd try and ride it out as suggested. Things stayed the same, though, which meant slightly weaker erections and going soft after about 20 mins of intercourse. Stupidly put this to the back of my mind and added dutasteride to the mix. Loaded with 0.5mg for five days as I was only planning on using it twice a week. After this I dropped it. Was still on finasteride one month later when ED got worse one night, so stopped all meds. Been off them three weeks and although I can still function it's still far from perfect! Just wondering how long I should give it before I get worried, considering the mix I took? Thanks.

Hard to say. I was off for 6 months without any change. You should check your hormone levels and do kegel exercises.

No, but I'm not far away now. The last testosterone injection made me feel like I do after using testosterone gel for 2 days (which it takes to reach stable blood level). That means that it's around where it should be, and that's good. My estrogen level is still a little bit low, and are causing some trouble, but it's getting better. My libido has been strong the last two days. Still working on the ED with kegels, and it's getting better too. :)

How do you go about getting a testosterone injection? What are the longer term benefits of this?

I developed secondary hypogonadism from the use of finasteride. I didn't get any help, because all my hormones, except estrogen (too high), were in range, although they were low, and I had many symptoms of hypogonadism. Testosterone is usually not prescribed for secondary. You can use medications to restore your HPTA, but it's difficult, and even dangerous to do this without the support of a doctor, so I chose to supress my HPTA with T injections instead. I've sources for steroids on the black market, and I do the injections myself.

With T injections, I benefit from a normal, high T level, while dealing with the real problem.

Just an update to anyone that is interested!

It's been almost 6 1/2 weeks off all medications and finally it seems like the old chap is back to working properly. I'm not totally out of the woods, but by God has there been a change. From not being able to even get an erection, to then not being about to maintain one, and now back to the old rock solid, zero flex, standing tall until I chose to say so.

What a friggin relief.

I was freaked out the entire time. Just a word of warning to people - these sides do happen, and yes, in the majority of cases, they do go away - but it's been a terrifying expereince.

To all those who are still to recover, I really do wish you the best and hope that it gets sorted out. Never again shall I put these nasty drugs in my body...and that's coming from an ex-junkie who overdosed at the age of 20! That sh*t just lasted a few hours, this has been a nightmare bad trip!

Peace out, brothers - keep fighting the fight.

Paul
