How long before or after minoxidil do I apply spironolactone 2%?

I have placed an order for spironolactone 2% and should get it in the post in the next few days. I was wondering when I should apply spironolactone (I will be applying it only in the evenings) given that I also apply minoxidil twice a day i.e. how long before or after minoxidil. Is there a way of avoiding the smell that seems to be a common experience with users of spironolactone. Also, should I be expecting a shed after starting my spironolactone applications? From what I have read on this forum is that some guys shed whilst others don't when they begin their spironolactone applications.

Apply the spironolactone FIRST, then wait 5 minutes or so for most of the spironolactone liquid to dry or at least become stable on the scalp, and THEN apply the minoxidil.
