How Long Did Your Minoxidil Shed Last?

Just wondering as im 16 or 17 days in on loniten and have been sheeding for almost a week. Its not a terrible shed but im definitely noticing alot of hair fall. Its an all over shed ( probably because im using it internally ) which I expected. Anyway, how long did your shed last, if you had one and how long did it take for regrowth?

I didn't get much of a shed, I actually got some Telogen Effluvium like thinning/miniaturization all around my NW6 area that lasted about 2 weeks. It has corrected itself now, still waiting for more results.

Ive been on loniten since August 14th, no benefits yet but hopefully i will have something to show for it in a month or two

Honestly I will be thrilled if this just gives me maintenance.

@The Baldy Man Me too, but im really hoping i will get back to baseline at least. I can dream that i will respond brilliantly and become a NW0 haha. Probably not though. For what its worth i woild try cleaning up your diet if you have not already. I think it does contribute ( if even just a little ) to how well you respond to treatments and how fast your hairloss progresses. Im going to start with cutting out cheese, as much as i love it.

I think about 2-3 weeks after I started, I noticed that I had less hair. I got nervous and bought Toppik. Probably 2-3 weeks later, new hair started coming in, was a relief!

I've been on minoxidil for about 2 years.

Glad to hear Yetti my shed seems to have calmed down a bit since this morning, still ongoing though. Hopefully less hairs for the sink to swallow tomorrow morning haha

Shed tends to happen within the first 1-4 weeks and usually lasts no more then two weeks. Most people start seeing and noticing the added benefit around two-thirds months into treatment.


Shed is a good indicator that the drug is working in most cases.
