How long do I have? Are there preventative shampoos?

I have noticed signs of male pattern balding lately and while I think my hair looks fairly ok right now I'm afraid it won't last long until it doesn't.
I'm 26 years old.

The crown of the head is like.. I wouldn't really feel self conscious right now walking around with that I think. But I didn't see it this clearly before (just got a hair cut) so I'm worried about the progression. Can anyone give an estimate how long until I can't have my hair medium long like this anymore (because the thinning at the crown would get too bad)?

I wonder whether now is the time to take measures so as to not regret it later.
Let's put my problem this way: I don't really need more hair at this moment (also because I don't socialize much this time of year), but I want to do something (gentle) to help out my future self, if necessary.
Finasteride would for me be a last resort. I don't like the idea of messing with DHT systemically and I already have quite low libido...
Do I understand correctly that Minoxidil will not have any such preventative effect?
What seemed most promising is CB-03-01 but the problem is its price.
I noticed gro.md shampoo. It says it contains hairgenyl, planoxia, redensyl, and capixyl. Would using such a shampoo give prevention to future hair loss?
What about Regenepure DR?
Or do such shampoos have more of a transient effect that doesn't help in the long run?

Shampoos don't work brother. Sorry. I tried it all and been through all of that and you'll only waste money. At the end of the day your genes, blood, and DHT. Get on finasteride and minoxidil asap. You're officially balding now based on those pics.

Thanks for your reply.
But is there point in doing Minoxidil if I just want to prevent/maintain and don't need more growth right now? I don't like the dependency it creates, i.e. if you stop it you lose whatever you gained with it.
Also, what about ketoconazole? Will it help preventively or does it only give effect while taking it, like Minoxidil?

There is no treatment right now that lets you keep the gains you get, anything you start you're stuck with. You can pursue treatment and buy time but no shampoo or natural product will let you maintain what you have.

But isn't Finasteride like that, you keep the gains? Since it blocks DHT from interacting with hair follicles?

yeah, ketoconazole has some weak effect, but don't rely on that. Yes, you are correct that minoxidil doesn't prevent further hair loss, it just boosts the hairs while the follicles keep miniaturizing. What can I say, as usual I'll recommend you finasteride. It's basically the easiest sh*t you can do for hair loss.

That does look like male pattern baldness, you ideally need the BIG3 and Regenepure DR is a great shampoo that will help as that contains 1% ketaconazole. Although ketaconazole alone will not halt your male pattern baldness. You considered Topical Finasteride as that’s what I been using since 2010. Oral tablets gave me side effects and since I been using Topical compound Finasteride mixture.

See the thread I posted below for Topical Finasteride.
