How long for finasteride sides to go away?

For those of you who have quit Propecia, how long did it take for sides to go away? I was thinking of coming off as an experiment to see whether the sides are caused by it, and I'd like to know how long I should reasonably give my body to get back in shape.

Thanks.

I would not go off, I did the same "experiment" and everything went wrong from that point on. It has been 7 months off, and it is not looking any better.

ttroy,

I read some of your posts. Just wondering, did it get better and then get worse? Or did it just go bad from the start?

I've been off for two weeks and found that the difference between fen and no fen is quite small -- small enough to accept the side effects (not total ED, just slightly decreased ability) in return for hair.

Do you think I'm safe?

Mew, if you're reading this, I would also appreciate your input.

Thanks!

I just felt anxiety, loss of libido, vision problems and mild ED while on it so I quit just to be safe, and after a few weeks things went to hell. I cannot give you advice, but if a mild drop in libido is your only problem while on at it and it gives you hair..then I would stay on.

TTroy did you ever try Revivogen? I am curious if people who get extreme sides from finasteride will react poorly to Revivogen also. I used it once and got a pretty bad headache and felt out of it for a couple of days. I think I will try it again at some point and see if it happens again.

But if people are getting sides like that from Revivogen I think that may mean it just might work for hairloss. I am not sure how effective it is but I think it probably does something.

How can you get sides from a shampoo besides some allergic reaction perhaps? No, I have not tried it. I developed a severe case of sebarrheic dermatitis(spelling) while on finasteride (perhaps had it before but milder, dunno) and am now taking a cortisone lotion and nizoral for it.
In hindsight I should have taken revivogen firts and not used finasteride (the "shotgun treatment"). I hope you will be ok, what happened to me and a few others is extremely devastating but also extremely rare.
All the best.
