and how have your results been,

I currently have been on finasteride since i was 24 - i am 29 atm. I think i have kept just about everything on my head since i started taking it.

I am scheduled to get a hair transplant on the 16th to fill in the slight temple recession i had from Alvi Armani.

I am starting to get worried about this itch on my scalp that has just recently started.

Have you tried Nizoral shampoo for the itching?

i might as well be taking a placebo.

Don't get discouraged bro, keep up the regimen and make assesments after the year. Just remember that maintenence is just as good as re-growth in some cases.

I use nizoral like 2 times a week. I question if my itch is from something else. My whole body has been itching since i am staying with my sisters family. I think its their dogs.

It took me almost 10 months on finasteride to see any real results. Keep the faith, bro. :)

One year today, to the mark. I had dabbled before, but as of today, it is one year of consistent use, basically.

Great results. See my sucess story in that forum.

I have tried and done various dosages, from .5 a day, to 1mg a day, 1mg split into .5, twice a day, 1.25, 2.5, etc.

They all work, and I had no real sides (except some bouts of apparent "propecia-triggered acne" on my head and face).

Took about 10 months to see real, good, over-the-cosmetic hump" results, as I call it.

Been on minoxidil over two years. Afraid to go off it now ! Wish I could. But I put it on 1 to 2 times a day, usually I get in the 2 times, but sometimes due to work or travel I don't.

Be patient with finasteride, it works.

sorry this is just off topic but this is to "tpeter"

"I am scheduled to get a hair transplant on the 16th to fill in the slight temple recession i had from Alvi Armani. "

Did Alvi Armani give you a bad hair transplant? Would you recommend him?

I have never had one done before so no he didnt give me a bad one. I chose him because of the searching and results i have seen on the work he does on hairlines. I dont have much to get done, just some slight tempal recession. Other then that my hair covers my head and you cant even see the recession but i know its there. Plus im hoping i can cut my hair shorter after this and perhaps spike it up a bit.

here is a link to the guy doing it.

I took an appointment that someone cancelled on so i got it cheap.

hey everyone,

well this is my first post on these forums. I have been on propecia for 6 years! yes that is correct 6 years! I have never really had a break during that time, just the odd missed day here and there.

I had great hair but noticed receding at the temples. no one could really notice except me. Took propecia as a precaution since i could afford it, i thought why not! Didnt really get any sides. However my recession has continued at a very slow but steady rate for the entire 6 years.

It has been difficult to tell whether the propecia was doing much, bceuase before i started the recession was slow also. But i just kept telling myself that its the propecia that has prevented things from accelerating.

Anyway, 6 years is a long time and its still continuing. People have noticed my recession and in the last 6 months i have started thining on top. Up until now my hair was always thick on top.

Getting to the point where i am looking at a change to try to slow things up a bit again.

cheers,
jc

Rogaine (or generic Minoxidil) - might help to regrow things on the hairline, and does a very good job on top. You might want to start with the 2% to become adjusted.
