How long to give minoxidil 5%

Hi all -

How long should I give minoxidil 5% until I can determine that since I see no regrowth, it does not work for me....3 months? 6 months? 12 months?

A minimum of four months. The earliest indication that I got that it is working is that my hair began to look thicker on my vertex, and the number of hairs falling out when I shampoo is much less now. Even if you don't see regrowth, if it accomplishes those two things, it is working.

I'd like to add the following

Since any regrowth happens slowly it's also possible for you to not even notice it's working when it actually is.
My suggestion for anyone who is starting a regimen no matter what it is. Take some pictures....Then take some more 4-6 months down the road.
I honestly didn't even think I was getting much if any regrowth on "The Big 3" until I took a few pictures at month 4...It was quite shocking.
