How long with Nizoral?

I been taking for about 10 to 11 months and been on Nzioral 2% for 6 months. I put it on for 5 minutes and want to know if I keep it longer than 5 minutes. I ask because minoxidil you have to keep it on your head for 30 minutes and want to know if Nizoral is the same thing. On the back it says to apply for 3 to 5 minutes and want to know if I should go long.
