How Many Hairs Is It Normal To Shed In The Shower?

I recently started to notice hair fall in the shower. I can’t count how much, but I’d say between 5-15 noticeable hairs. When I shampoo I don’t see any, but when I just run my fingers through my wet hair I can pull 1-3. I’ve never had this before, at least never noticed, but my hair is significantly longer than usual right now. The hairs don’t seem to be full length, but they aren’t noticeably short. I’d say 3/4 of a full hair.

Normal? Should I be worried?

It's normal to shed between 50 and 100 hairs a day, but losing hair can be quite scary. The important thing to note is if your hair is regrowing. The hair loss should be recovered with the new hair. Still if you any doubt regarding this, you can contact the one of the best specialists for better assistance.

Shedding a few hairs in the shower is normal. Whats not normal is when you notice your hair being thinner and notice lots of hair strands stuck between your fingers while you shampoo.

It can be scary at first, but don't worry as there are treatment options available. I would recommend you visit a Hair transplant surgeon who could confirm if something is wrong or no.

Good Luck!

So if the hairs aren’t thinner, and my hair doesn’t seem to be less dense, then I should be good? I’ve had a derm appointment scheduled since February but it got rescheduled to next week lol

My best guess would be that you’ve always been shedding this much hair in the shower, but only now started noticing it since you tend to focus on your hair a lot.

Mate, I’d give my left nut to shed 5-15 hairs in the shower again. When I run my hand through my hair I get that. When I shower I shed 100+ easily. It’s like someone’s been combing his dog in the shower cabin.
