How Rare Is It For male pattern baldness To Just Stop On Its Own?

I understand that some men develop a 'mature hairline' which is usually just a very early norwood and their hair never gets worse. However, for example -
is it ever possible for someone to become a Norwood 3 and then for their hair to not recede anymore?

I know a guy who was NW3 at 22year old(saw his pics )and is still the same norwood at 50... Idk why
