How to embed subtitles into videos

I know how to capture and download videos (from YouTube, Dailymotion and other websites) and I know how to create subtitles using Windows Live Movie Maker (I believe Nero doesn't do that) but I don't know how to embed subtitles into videos.

I've done some research and found a couple of tutorials but they're extremely complicated.

So, is there a SIMPLE way to embed subtitles into a video and then burn the file to a DVD?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, there is a way to add captions to your videos. It is not too difficult.

Great and how do I do that exactly?

(I'm talking about subtitles downloaded on the internet, not custom made)

I'm talking about the custom made ones. The captions where you have to manually enter what is being said in the videos. I'm not sure what you are talking about though.

No, it's not that.

I already know how to create those and then embed them into the videos using Windows Live Movie Maker (it's not possible to do it with Nero, I think).

I'm trying to find a SIMPLE way to embed subtitles downloaded from websites such as this one:

http://www.moviesubtitles.org/

I know it's not an easy question but any help will be more than appreciated.

Thanks again!
