Hi all,

I am basically giving up on Finasteride as after 13 months, it hasn't even slowed my rapid progression and I am now experiencing a lack of interest in sex.

Are there any tips on how I should give up? I am thinking of tapering off - taking a tablet every other day for 2 weeks then every 3 days for 2 weeks, then stopping completely.

Any advice?

It takes about 2 weeks for 5ar to be reproduced in the body and about 5 days for your AR's to regulate according to new hormone concentrations so the safest manner would be to actually only drop dose every 3 weeks. At first it would be okay to drop straigh to 0.5mg then 0.25 etc.. however once past below 0.1 i would say come off extremely slowly - perhaps 10% at a time. It will be slow but safe.

What makes you people think there is any reason to taper off with finasteride? Whats the point?

Too much DHT rushing back onto receptors at once could fry the receptors and render them desensitised. Potential PFS theory if the ‘crash’ is real .
