Im 30 years old, and i started taking propecia 4 days ago, 1mg a day,as i feel like im in the early stages of male pattern hair loss, its become quite thin on top over the last few years and i wanted to do something about it to stop it in its tracks and regrow the density. Thankfully i haven't had any serious side effects, i think my sex drive is maybe a tiny bit lower, but it wasn't great even before taking propecia so i cant tell if its had any impact. I do feel that i run out of breath quicker when im working out, and exercise is a big part of my life. I know its only been 4 days but i've decided to just stop taking it, however im not sure if i should taper off, or just stop completely, ive heard of some users experience sides after quitting cold turkey, so obviously i want to avoid that.
From my own research it seems that sides can come any time, whether thats 2 months or 2 years from now and your never truly in a "safe zone" with propecia. Its such a shame because i definitely feel that my hair is already starting to look and feel better, but my health is more important to me. I thought about taking propecia for more than a year now, as hair loss is just devastating to me, but i'd rather just accept it over losing my health.I have 26 tablets left so if anyones interested i can sell it on the cheap as i have no interest in taking it. Who knows maybe this is just temporary and my hair might get better, but because potential side effects in the future is so unpredictable, i dont want to put myself in a position where it will take years to recover or worse yet no recover at all.I am certain that shortness of breath during excercise is not related to psychological factors, as i prepared myself mentally before taking propecia, and im generally not thinking about it all day.The changes were obvious. I might try a topical dht inhibitor like sprio, or minoxidil with azelaic acid. Or i may lower the dosage and frequency of taking the drug but im not sure on how frequently and how much mg.
