How To Quit Propecia After 4 Days, Cold Turkey, Or Taper Off?

Im 30 years old, and i started taking propecia 4 days ago, 1mg a day,as i feel like im in the early stages of male pattern hair loss, its become quite thin on top over the last few years and i wanted to do something about it to stop it in its tracks and regrow the density. Thankfully i haven't had any serious side effects, i think my sex drive is maybe a tiny bit lower, but it wasn't great even before taking propecia so i cant tell if its had any impact. I do feel that i run out of breath quicker when im working out, and exercise is a big part of my life. I know its only been 4 days but i've decided to just stop taking it, however im not sure if i should taper off, or just stop completely, ive heard of some users experience sides after quitting cold turkey, so obviously i want to avoid that.

From my own research it seems that sides can come any time, whether thats 2 months or 2 years from now and your never truly in a "safe zone" with propecia. Its such a shame because i definitely feel that my hair is already starting to look and feel better, but my health is more important to me. I thought about taking propecia for more than a year now, as hair loss is just devastating to me, but i'd rather just accept it over losing my health.I have 26 tablets left so if anyones interested i can sell it on the cheap as i have no interest in taking it. Who knows maybe this is just temporary and my hair might get better, but because potential side effects in the future is so unpredictable, i dont want to put myself in a position where it will take years to recover or worse yet no recover at all.I am certain that shortness of breath during excercise is not related to psychological factors, as i prepared myself mentally before taking propecia, and im generally not thinking about it all day.The changes were obvious. I might try a topical dht inhibitor like sprio, or minoxidil with azelaic acid. Or i may lower the dosage and frequency of taking the drug but im not sure on how frequently and how much mg.

Finasteride shouldn't do anything to make you feel "out of breath" quicker. Minoxidil could do that if you're using it though because it does weird things to blood pressure and leaches away potassium.

You could try taking 0.25mg daily instead, it inhibits about 10-20% less DHT.

Im only on propecia and nothing else, when i was doing my workout yesterday i ran out of breath much quicker than i normally would do. Do you think it would be okay to just quit cold turkey after 4 days?

I think you should give it a month and if you still feel like you're "out of breath" so quickly, then taper down gradually. I've never heard of anyone running out of breath so to speak but I have heard of people losing some strength (though only 1-2 reps, not a huge deal). It could be something to just get used to, in which case lower your dose to 0.5mg or 0.25mg daily.

If you think that your hair is starting to look better after 4 days of finasteride then I can 100% assure you that this is not because of finasteride.

In theory, you should have more strength in the gym as Propecia should increase Testosterone by the inhibition of Testosterone being converted to DHT. I certainly felt I had a bit more aggression in the gym after I started taking it. Nothing wrong with being slightly out of breath if you're going hard in the gym. That would happen to someone whether they were on Propecia or not. It's certainly not a direct result/side effect of the drug.

But try taking 0.25 a day to put your mind at ease. Build up to 0.5 after 1 or 2 months or whenever you feel comfortable (i.e. taking it has become a habit like brushing your teeth and you're not even thinking about side effects / loss of breath etc).

Well there are a lot of things to be said about finasteride regarding what it should do IN THEORY and what it should not...
