I am a 16 year old and 4 guys in my class are telling me that I am balding and it's causing me to become really insecure, am I balding? My dad balded yet his dad and my maternal grandfather both had a full head of hair, and my mom's two brothers haven' balded yet while there in their 50's.

You are! Quite a lot of thinning at this age..in coming years they will eventually thin more and thus one becomes bald. Wait till 18, go to dermatologist and ask for finasteride..till then you can do nothing other than using ketoconazole 2% shampoo 2 times a week

sh*t, well that just augmented my insecurities, but btw I forgot to mention That I have vitamin D deficiency which I heard causes hair loss, is it possible for that to be the cause? Because even when my dad balded he was in his 40s and it started at 38.

I wouldn't say you're balding. But you do look like you have low density. What does your hairline look like?

This is my hairline, I don't know if it's a really good picture yet I have had a widow's peak since birth like that of my mother and her father, and there is no visible balding on the sides. But do you think this might just be vitamin D deficiency cause it causes the type of hairloss I am experiencing and when I took the pills in the middle of july my hair has stopped falling except maybe 10 hairs a day.

Yea, that seems suspect. I would go see a doctor about this. Especially since you said you were losing hair all over your body.

You need to do a blood test ASAP! The hair is really thin and you are only 16. I suspect it might be male pattern baldness and something else too. Talk to a doctor ASAP

This is my hair nowadays! I am 19 and this is male pattern baldness..now you can understand how much thin your hair is already! Trust me go to a doctor asap! Because if it turned out male pattern + something else too..you can literally be bald till 20..as the hair is very thin and really low density

Diffuse thinning, but it’s homestly not too bad. The smartest thing to do would tell your parents and go to a doctor or possibility dermatologist. Pray it isn’t male pattern baldness or else you’re f’d in the a

There is obviously hair loss but the cause may not be male pattern baldness. Get blood tests done and consider seeing a dermatologist.

Global hairloss isn't normal

Probably male pattern baldness bro like it is 99% of the time...
But go to the doctor and get your tsh, free t4, vit d and iron panel checked.

Even if your vitamin d is low that is something that is present in a large portion of our population, unlikely to be contributing to your thinning.

It’s not too bad right now though... I would maybe ask your parents about getting some rogaine foam. Could be all you need.

I know it might be male pattern baldness but I said that hair is falling out of all of my body and especially in the pubic regions and my hairline is still good and hasen't changed so it might be vitamin D deficiency as I am really deficient, my results indicate 16.8 while it should be above 30 and everything from 20 to 30 is deficient so it is really bad with me and it is also causing me back pain.

About 42 percent of adults have vitamin d levels below 20, 16.8 really isn’t so bad. The link between vitamin d and hair loss really isn’t well researched either, simply a correlation mostly found in women

Go see your Doctor. As others have said it’s not too bad. Could genuinely be one of the very few ones which is something besides male pattern baldness. People tend to get a bit hysterical on here.

Thank you, I talked to my mother to go see a doctor, I hope it's not male pattern baldness but if it is I'll just treat it as well as I can and stop being self conscious and insecure about it.

Are you able to see your scalp in the mirror in regular room lighting? Your hair looks a lot like mine before I cut it.
