I can't believe it!

Today something weird happend. Someone complimented my hair :O I was completely taken aback and didn't know what to say... I thought I'd never hear another compliment on my hair ever again, unless it was a wig of course. I really don't know what to make of this, I mean did he mean it or just say it to be nice because he saw what awful state my hair was in?! If he meant it is he blind?! Anyway that lifted my spirit a bit although my hair has been shedding like mad for the past 24 hours. Hope it stops ASAP because I really don't have much hair to lose.

It happens to me too sometimes I think "Oh its not that bad" but then I take a shower and am reminded of how thin everything is

LOL, I should have figured!

About my hair, I guess you just have to take my word for it. I've lost more than half my hair in the span of 3 years, but since I had lots of hair (think Selena Gomez) to start with it may still look decent to those who don't know how my hair used to look like. That is, with a ton of Toppik and careful styling. I wouldn't lie to you guys about my hair, look at my post count, I would be insane to have made up this whole thing if that's what you're thinking. I promise you I have Androgenetic Alopecia, even been diagnosed (recently).

I doubt he felt sorry for you, EvilLocks. If you started out with Selena Gomez hair and have about half as much left, that's still a lot of hair--more than my pregnancy hair! I hope your shed stops too and that you can hang onto what you have left for a long time. That just might happen (-:

Thanks, Joan, I really hope so... I hate my hair right now but at least I can look somewhat normal with Toppik still. I guess I should hang onto that as long as possible!

I've been complimented on my hair before, even with my male pattern baldness. I was actually at a place with my uncle over a couple months ago, and a women sincerely said to me that I have beautiful hair. That made me feel good.

My hair looks fine as it is. It's when I expose my hair under bright lights or get it wet, you'll be able to see how much hair I've really lost. :broken:

Wet hair is the worst... I blow dry my hair as soon as I get out of the shower to avoid seeing my pathetic wet head... When before you couldn't see my scalp even with wet hair, now it's all see through and ****ty <'3

I did post a picture once of my receded temples, but took it down due to my paranoia that someone I know will look at the pictures and see that it's me lol...

in my opinion it is a great feeling, on the other hand it's kind of awkward getting positive comments on your hair when you know it's in bad shape.
especially when it comes from people who've known you for a long time, from a time back when the hair actually was great
