I'm 61 years old. I noticed thinning in the front center of my hairline about eight months ago. Now the hair loss in the front I seem to progress to this point. I started using Rogaine a month ago in that area.

Ive always have pretty thick hair. A little sending in the crown. The oldest receding hairline in the front seems very rapid. Does anyone have any opinions on my picture?

1st picture in my Hairline now today.( Ive been applying Romaine to that area for 1 month)
2nd picture is my Hairline in Feb 2020

Hard to tell how much different they are due to the lighting and photo quality. But you definitely do have male pattern baldness unfortunately. Good thing is you still have a good amount of hair after age 60 - and not gray either!

The thing I don't understand is why would I start losing here at this age. I'm using Rogaine now for one month so far, seems to have made more hair fall out in the front.

Genes are a weird thing. It seems like some turn on and off once you reach certain ages.

It's a shedding phase, it should come in thicker in another 2-3 months, be patient and consistent and stick with it.

After one month use of RoGaine, I Think I'm going to stop using it. However my HAirline has shed since using it. I use it in the front a lot and the hair has gotten thinner just within this month of Romaine use, see photos above. If I discontinue use now wll my hair go back to the way it was in the first photograph above/

The shedding phase is normal and expected - to oversimply things a bit, the healthier fuller hair is essentially pushing the older unhealthy hair out.

Actually it looks like it could be Alopecia Areata, but I'm not a doctor. And apparently you already had receded cornes and no temple pearks. Maybe it's just a very slow progression.
