Humans reach their physical primes around 25...strength is at their peak at this time

Collagen and hgh lvl already drop before that. With 25 you only have half of the collagen you have with 20.

Balding rate rises with 30.

Bottom line is: after 20-25 your look is a sinking ship. Nothing you can do about it. Ofc keeping care of yourself is still important but overall you shouldnt give too much about your outer appearance, including hair.

Its just stressful.

The most happiest people are these buddhist and christian monks who shave their hair off and just stop caring.

I need this too. Ofc i will popping my finasteride and use a night cream but i must stop looking in mirrors, observing my hairline etc.

I need to become my 16 year old again where i just buzzed my head and didnt give a f*** about my outer appearance.

Basically my goal is to have a slick bald guy attitude with a full head of hair thanks to finasteride..

Imo guys should use finasteride and minoxidil, wear sunscreen, and keep their body fat low. This is a good moderate regimen for looks that covers the basics to age gracefully but doesn't become too obsessive or time consuming

Some of us however have bdd and can't bring ourselves to this stage of moderation. I include myself in this category

How do you know that you have BDD? In my opinion obsession with looks and BDD are not the same thing.

Because I have a constant obsesessive self-consciousness over my NW2, how my face looks from certain angles, and being above 10% bodyfat. And all the while people tell me I am good looking. This is not normal or healthy behaviour

When I see men over fifty carefully grooming their deteriorating sh*t rats nest and saying things like, "I wish the younger girls would pay more attention to me" or "you think I am still handsome", it makes me f*****g sick. When I am that age, single or not, I want to give ZERO FUCKS about my looks, period.

Man, consider therapy and meditation and for Christ's Sake stop obsessing over your looks and just live a happy life

Appearances matter.

A car that performed like a Mercedes but looked like a Lada would hardly sell.

People care what others look like - studies show that people are even more inclined to employ good looking candidates over uglier ones if the qualifications are the same. Sales people who are good looking sell more.

Anyone who doesn't at least try and max their looks is a bloody imbecile.

The problem is that looks don't suddenly stop affecting your life the day you hit 30.

Let us assume you married to the girl..whom you liked..and she also loves you.
and then you become father of a kid(boy/girl.)..

In this case, will you still care about your looks impact on your life or think about your kid and family?

Definitely not, obsession with looks is a guaranteed way to depression

Grandmas in their 70 still care about their looks and stuff. Its human but it isnt rational

Exactly. Especially after 25. Because no matter what you do..your looks will decline with every minute..it would be stupid to put too much effort in it

Yes.

She would leave you once the sexual attraction goes.

Same for a guy - most men would leave their wives if they gained 200lbs.

I think you should care enough to at least stay fit and healthy. Alot of people care more than you think. They just don't join a forum and let people know about it. Maybe you should be more accepting as you age with the cards you will be dealing with like balding, wrinkling, graying, ED and weight challenges. However, it gets hard if you are surrounded by peers who don't go thru exactly the same issues as yourself. I think those genetically gifted are hard to ignore and compare yourself to.

I'm not married, and in order to find a woman I'd consider marrying I'd need looks, unless I plan on becoming a beta provider she's just marrying for money which is something I'd never want. Also half of marriages end in divorce, with the majority of them being initiated by women. I'm willing to bet that most of the time it's due to women losing attraction to their husband.

Saurabhaj, any loving parent doesn't think twice about putting their children's happiness and needs before his/her own. But yes, some of us do still care a lot about our appearance and probably always will. It's not always just for ourselves. We also want to look our best for our children and spouses. My house was always full of my sons' friends when they were younger (actually, just till last summer with my younger son's friends), and when I started losing hair, I was embarrassed for them that they'd eventually have a mom who wore a wig (thankfully, not quite there yet) and of what those friends would think. As much as kids want their parents to be proud of them, we want them to be proud of us too in many ways, and one of them (not the most important) is how we present ourselves on the outside too.
