I don't understand love or people who get "heart-broken"

the problem is youre talking as if people are commodities. "you can simply replace them with better people". Thi is true. But have you ever been in love? you could go on 100 dates and maybe 1-5 people you have an instant connection with. Maybe less that that you could fall in love.
when youre in love with someone they are your best friend and you care for them. You love being with them you love how it feels . So thats why people get heart broken. Because you cant just replace that . It feels irreplaceable.
Im over my ex now because although i loved her and i was heart broken for years..I also realise she was a low quality person who toxic to be with..and the love wasnt worth it..
its like if your best friend died could you just replace them with someone better and shrug it off?

It's all a trick from your brain, and the brain is f*****g stupid and is causing you to suffer because it somehow wants to be and reproduce with a certain person for some reason even though there are objectively hordes of better options around. Once you realize this, you will be able to get your sh*t together and move on from any person because at the end of the day it's all just an illusion and your belief that they're "the one and best out there" is plain horseshit

you re right in the sense love is chemicals in the brain hence just like coming off addictive drugs it can be very difficult

wouldnt you feel bad if your best friend and someone you cared for and loved betrayed you lied to you and dumped you ?
sure years later you can say yea i wouldnt be with someone like that but in that moment its a different story.

Nope, i would just throw them in the garbage bin and move on with my life. Might feel angry and act depending on the type of betrayal. But why feel bad about someone who treated me like sh*t? It doesn't make any sense

Very easy to say from the arm chair, completely different story when you're in the moment and you're heavily invested in someone emotionally

Really shitty thread to be honest. No doubt why you are so bitter, probably never experienced it in high school. It might have its consequences, but when I look back at my first love I feel nothing but joy and the sweetest nostalgia that I've ever felt. What came after this is another story, but people shouldn't be afraid of falling in love. That's the way I see it. Besides, it's pretty subjective.
