i dont understand that rich people dont invest in hair restoring technolygies. i mean, there must be bald billionaires or bald mulit-millionaires with much money and why dont they invest in hair multiplication or gen therapie or something. dont they know about it? or dont they have problems with their baldness? damn, there are people who have so much money, why dont they spend some of it? the problem could be solved so fast. with money. whats with bruce willis? he says he wants hair again and he has much money, why doesnt he invest it in hair multiplication or something?

yea, i hear ya.. I don't think money is the problem though.. it's just time/trial/error..

hulk hogan wants hair back too, he's a multimillioinare.. ya know?

just goes to show you it's going to take time.. not money.

you think that its more a problem of time? but with money you should be able to buy time, or not? and with money it should be possible to get more good researchers to research in hair restoration. so there would be a better chance that we get something good.

no i understand what you mean.

I'm sure there are millions upon millions of dollars being used as we speak for male pattern baldness research.. think of how much money a company could make if there was a cure.

i think the problem is this... say you have 5 million dollars... you could A. llive comfortabally for the rest of your life with a hat and a supermodel wife.

or

B. give your money to someone so he/she can research hair loss.

no, i dont think its like that with your A and B. there are people who have 100 million dollars or 10 000 million dollars. if they just spend 5 millions or some more it doesnt touch them.

yea, but you also have to think about the people who dont care if they lose hair.

i mean we do.. but take my unlce for example. he's a really successful banker.

he's almost completly bald. and he doesnt care.

I think you've answered your own question. They don't contribute (that we know of) while by all accounts they certainly could. That must mean they don't really care about it and are busy living their lives.

If I had millions I doubt finding a cure for hairloss would be on my short list of contributions. Terminal illnesses, absolutely...but not a vanity item.

Its weird i myself dont understand. What does that CEO of amazon think of himself when looking on the mirror??
ye I wonder those stuff too, but the fact is, that most men dont care, or care just to small extent. This forum represent only very small portion of the population.
This is a fact, but I really cant understand it. How can you not care to simply lose all your attractiveness and self image? it's not a small change like few wrinkles, baldness make you look like complete different (ugly) person, massive hit to your appereance.
And whether you like it or not it has effect on your relationships with others and day to day life. especially in this day and age. I would expect that the average man, even without bdd (like myself and maybe some others here..) would bother a little more about it.
But nope, most accept it and move on. I think it's just the way your brain wired, some people just have built in strong coping mechanism.

by the way why you think that people dont invest in hairloss research? the fact that there is no cure (or anything close to it) doesnt mean there are no investments.
Im sure cancer effect lots of rich people too, and yet we dont have some definite cure for it either. And Im not sure which problem is harder to solve. hairloss is pretty tough you know...

Since losing my hair I dream about making billions and using it to start a foundation for hair loss research. Like fund companies to do their trials and stuff.
