I feel it but I just can't see it

Hey all, I have been on the big 3 for about 5 months now, my hairloss is that of a diffuse nature and has been a pretty drawn out process in terms of loss, roughly 13 years to where I am today. I can say for certain that my existing hair has definately thickened up. The question I have is I can feel a lot of stubble all over my head (I use clippers at the shortest setting) in areas that previous to using treatments were pretty slick, primarily the crown area. The only thing is I can't see the damn things.

Just a couple of questions, are these hairs I feel what would be refered to as vellous hairs? Should I expect that these will eventually become thicker noticable hairs? I am kind of excited to feel the hair but don't want to get my hopes up. Thanks for any help.

it's hard to tell without examining you up close...

just stick with it and play it out...this is the biggest challenge for people to do. You need to just make a part of your lifestyle and then evaluate at least 6 months in...

I was on propecia for a number of years..but the side's just started to get to me...keep an eye-out for them because although I didn't have sides off the start, later on it really screwed me up...mood shifts, loss of libido, limp-dick...When I got off of it, I went from no-drive to getting boner's at work...and then I went back to low-drive and limp-dick..see-saw...really has screwed my hormones up...

Hey Sparky....

I'm curious about your side effects...... are you saying that you are now still off the meds and having issues? The reason I'm asking is because I've been on propecia for 10 years and it's really difficult for me to assess whether propecia is causing libido loss or not. Granted I'm now 32 so my libido could just be going down or my body could be more susceptible to the drug at this stage, etc. Over the years I can say that my libido has fluctuated a lot. Some of it may have to do with the time of year, whether I've been exercising regularly, stress/anxiety for sure... etc. At some points I'm the biggest horndog while other times I have no interest. I'm currently in a "little interest" phase and since I've been on these boards, I'm questioning propecia's impact.

I guess my question to you is.... how exactly did you gage whether or not propecia was, in fact, the culprit? As I mentioned.... for me.... after all these years.... with so many fluctuations.... it's so hard to tell. (no pun intended lol)

^^ I wouldnt worry too much about whether its caused by the Propecia. I go through the same thing and im not on it, it can be caused my many things stress, diet etc, so don't be too concerned. If you had absolutely no libido at anytime then start considering it may be caused by the meds. Thats just my opinion  lol
