In the last two months my hair got so much worse, that I had to buzz it. Luckily I had at least moved away for a while, so people at home will remember me as I was. And I went straight from good looking guy to a creepy weirdo. In the last weeks the reaction of people only proves how bad it is.

1) I was in the bank and they needed my ID card. I have only 1,5 year old photo there. The cashier asked for another ID card, because she could not recognize me on the picture. When I gave her my driving license she told me: "But you were so handsome.. Are you ill?"

2) I called with skype to my mother. Once she saw me she got shocked and after an awkward silence with sadness in her eyes she just said: "You don´t look that bad." - Imagine. Mothers usually tells you are handsome and white lies like that. She could not even lie, that much.

3) I called also to my father. We had not seen and talk almost for half an year. His reaction: "Whoa, what happened to you? You wont get any girl with a look like that. Do you want to borrow some money on a hair transplant?" - father is officially red pilled :D

Just all of this and that dramatic change of look proves, that you cant just get over it. Some of us are completely not suitable for the bald look. And yes, I am on treatment, however it does not work anymore. f*** hairloss, f*** my life....

You had to give it a try. You never know how you will end up. I tell you this: I showed a picture of myself with a shaved head (courtesy of Face App) and someone said: "oh, did the app also make you younger? You look younger."
FML. Apparently, shitty hair makes you look older
This is why I say you had to give it a try.

Where are you from? Also Im finding it hard to believe the "are you ill" part in your first line. If it happened that sucks but I dont buy it. I Have shaved my head before and between that, my licences, my gun permit, and every other ID I have not one picture looks the same hair wise and I dont think Ive ever been questioned or doubted it was me. Ive been thinking of shaving my head again, its winter here and honestly so much easier to deal with vs the wind, winter hats, time, lack of actual outdoor activities etc. I then remember when I shave I need to do my eyebrows like once a week and its a bit of a PITA.

I would say stick with it a bit, use this time of short hair to REALLY GRIND in the minoxidil and maybe pick up a derma stamp. I use this one

I like it and actually just ordered the 1.5mm one. I dont do the massive damage rolling did. Just enough to puncture slightly and allow it to work and my scalp to absorb more of my topicals.

Just accept it the way it is.

Acceptance is the key if you want to have some inner peace.

First time I buzzed it off (no guard) my mom started to cry, for f*** sake. Every single time she see's me with a very short buzz cut she greets me with a "oh no, not again". For some fucked up reason she makes herself believe that I shave it off because I'm curious as to how it looks. Especially when I was younger this was devastating to my already low self esteem. Lately I started to become more and more indifferent to everything. Not good.

I knew, that I will look like an idiot, but I am now in north Sweden and almost everywhere I am wearing a hat - like everyone up here. I do not visit any social event nor any friends or something like that here, so I do not need to look good for now...

Nah, I never was and probably never will be the type of person who accepts something, that pisses me off. I would rather die fighting obstacles of life, than accepting them (And that gives me inner peace). Hair loss is the reason I left university, job and everything and moved for a year to north Sweden. Just to save money for a good hair transplant. Hopefully the magic sh*t brotzu could actually come out and I would could use that money more senseful.

In a perfect world, everyone should be allowed the chance to look like themselves. .
This sentence is really outstanding. Like themselves. In my country there is strong social believe, that look = persons character. This actually is what I feel as a strongest difference between the far north culture and the culture of Prague. Here are people really interested in who you are. In Prague people see you mostly as how you dress and look. It takes time before people start acknowledging your real character and only if you pass the look barrier. Another plus point for Scandinavia.

My grandma said I should see a doctor and asked if I was sick at Christmas when I was visibly norwood 3 at 22. People associate hairloss with sickness and death and they're right because socially it pretty much results in people viewing you as the equivalent.

This is pretty much true. Allot of women, if they have cancer and need chemo, the first thing they ask is: am I going to lose my hair. You read these articles how losing their hair made them feel like a patient. How it diminished their looks and self esteem. etc etc.

However, for reasons unkown to me, if you are a young man losing his hair it is totally ok to make jokes about it.

MY buddy busted my balls once and said I looked like a patient but in his defense we are all jerks and I was dieting and dropped a TON of weight. That was pretty much it. I get people associate the hairloss with sickness but I dont think a woman checking ID randomly is going to inquire.

Then get on a new treatment if your old one isn't working. There are loads of sequentially more aggressive options anyone can now pursue. Balding is not mandatory.

(Also i have limited sympathy for you since at least you got to be considered good looking at one time in your life. That's more than many of us ever get. More than I'll ever get anyway. Yeah I'm passive aggressive about it.)

This is where I stopped reading! (I will probably read the rest though). Same sentiment from me, if it happened that's awful but wow it's hard to believe.

Grandma and someone holding a job in a bank are two different things. No doubt people think bald/ing guys look ill but only the very rude would socially say it, never mind in a professional environment.
