It's possible to have a transplant with retrograde alopecia, it depends on its severity imo.. tried to ask a transplant surgeon?

This. You should get a consultation with a good hair transplant surgeon to know for sure.
Don't really see a point since i won't have a transplant now anyway, and i don't 100% know how my hair loss will progress. For now, i think there's a 90% chance that i will eventually end up a retrograde NW7 like my father, and 10% chance that my hair loss will end up being less severe. I like keeping my expectations low just to be safe

In extremis you can still get scalp micro pigmentation... I know it's not an optimal solution though.

But yeah try oral minoxidil first.
Yeah if all else fails i'm open to getting SMP. Not optimal. But better than slick bald

Do you have examples of good ones? There are some unethical surgeons who charge low prices who would take somebody and take donor in a retrograde area, but do reputable surgeons do good work on retrograde cases? Seems like they'd expect the person to use finasteride and make sure that it strengthens the retrograde. That is roughly what I have been told.

Edit: Also OP I am considering a system. Why don't you? Message me if you want to discuss.

So now oral minoxidil is my only option. But i will be most likely fully bald within 5-10 years anyway with no way to get a transplant

Is your hair buzzed down? I don't know if that is really retrograde. Not a great photo.

A Dr. gave you a diagnosis,or its just your opinion?
I don't think most dermatologists are aware of what retrograde alopecia even is. And it's too obvious anyway that any Norwood-spotter can easily notice

I have it too man, I'm thinning in the neck area too. When the back of my head is shaved it looks horrible and patchy. I noticed it back in October 2018 which is when I first found this site but it hasn't got worse.
