I just realized HM might not work for me...

Im a diffuse thinner with about Norwood 1.5. However, i dont think HM will work for me...I took a good close look @ my hair...my hair calibre is thin, but it seems like my roots and follicles are still packed pretty closely which is why buzzcuts work for me for about 2-3days or so. After it grows out it looks pretty shitty. So I dont think theres any room even for me 2 pack any more follicles in there...

how short do you buzz your hair to? mac i think you should try buzzing your hair with no guard on the clippers, so to like 1.2 millimeters.

I buzz my head to guard 1.5 on top and guard 1 on the sides...I could try to regrow it but maybe sometime during the winter...theres too much sun...plus the fact that ill be swimming and sh*t...i mean the cut itself seems to get me a lot more female attention, but Im jus saying my follicles dont seem to be capable of producing a thick matrix of hair like other guys do..its very porous and thin, DESPITE my follicles being @ least averagely packed I would say. Like i dont think the gaps are too big, and I agree that maybe even no guard would be better, its jus a piss off having to buzz it everyday. I got a shaver before, but for w.e. reason the guard 1 on that machine was much longer then my hair that was already grown out (i.e. it wouldnt reach my hairs) so it looks like I got 2 dish out $300 for a nice set...either that or spend $6 every week on a cut.

Which btw, doesnt seem like that big of a hassle but it is kinna a long drive..and its kinna awkward going in for a buzzcut when my hair is already pretty f*****g short after only 1 week of growing...oh btw update for u jayman, since it seems u and me r diffuse bros...my 2nd hypo test came out negative...boo for me...no thyroid medication.

If HM works as it should theoretically, it should "work" for everybody.

Hopefully we'll hear how it is coming along... some time... this year.

The cells injected can serve two purposes:
1) promote new hair growth
2) strenghten existing hair

So you will benefit.

if your hair caliber is thinner than average but you still think you dont have large gaps of missing hair, then you have nothing to lose by buzzing with no guard on the hair clippers man. do that twice a week and people shouldn't be able to tell that you're balding. you can spare 10 minutes twice a week to do this man.

im due to have thyroid tests next week i think, but i don't really expect anything.just doing it to rule it out.

are you sad because you can't get thyroid medication, or sad because you don't have hypothyroidism which you thought could explain your hair loss and then the thyroid meds might grow it back?

i'm guessing the latter but you don't want to have hypothryoidism man.

Im sad because I think my doctor is a quack...to be honest I dont fully believe him...somehow my chlorestrol just disapperared too. I dont know I still suffer from the hypothyroid symptoms so I feel sad that I can't get the medicine cuz i got a hunch that i've been misdiagnosed.

if he ran the tests and your TSH and T3 and T4 are all normal, you don't have hypothyroidism man.

and how did you know that? he could have had hypothyroidism AND male pattern baldness.

cuz hypothyroids are not very common among males...and def. not very common among young males...and then EVEN if you did have it...that doesnt necessairly mean it will lead to hair loss...

Darrell Jackson the WR of the seahawks had it last year...he was very sick and had to miss a few games...he didnt lose any hair.

sorry i didn't realize you were an expert on hypothyroidism. i never said that it will necessarily lead to hair loss, but hair loss can be a side effect of hypothyroidism, and the hair loss manifests itself in a diffuse pattern, with thinning everywhere, just like mac is experiencing. so it wasn't a bad idea for him to test for it. i guess he just has diffuse unpatterned alopecia after all.

Nevertheless Im going to keep an eye on it...there could be some other condition Im unaware of...just dont think im trying to find a culprit for what most likely is a fucked up version of male pattern baldness for me...but baldness is a MULTIFACETED condition...whichever factors I can eliminate...good for me...anyways, im not sure you guys get me 100% though...pictured an extremely dense forest with thick trunks packed in all the way...as in no space between the trees. But then the trunk from the root grows out and they become scarily thin. If a chopper flew overhead, there would be a very sparse canopy...but there wouldnt be too much scalp showing i.e. (the eaarth and soil) but there would be some...if you chopped those trees down to the roots, it would look much better...thats sorta how my balding looks like...you CAN SEE through the trees, but when they're chopped down it just kinna looks better. So this is why I dont think HM would work...if the roots are already side by side (not 100% but they are) and we jus put in some thick roots with thin growing trees...that wouldnt benefit me that much...

Mac,

Listen, HM works by inserting new DPC to your scalp, these cells do two things, they either make new hair grow or reinforce a weakened follicle.
So in your case you will benefit most from the second route of action.

Don't worry about it, IF it works well it will work for you too. The more I read about HM the more I get the hang of it, this is seriously good stuff.

i do think its important to rule it out though if you have the chance. with shift work and other things ruining peoples circadian rhythms, poor diet and a host of other things, thyroid conditions are becoming far more common in everyone, including young men.

it is a possibility....but 95% of times when men are losing their hair..its b/c of male pattern baldness....I go by the numbers.

Has any member here ever lost hair due to a thyroid condition?

the thing is mate you'd never know because so few people get it checked. that 95% number is taken from dermatologists records who as we know dont even examine people with balding half the time, simply say its male pattern baldness and get over it. there could be a large amount of men who's male pattern baldness is hastened by a thyroid condition but never know about it and so lose their hair far faster.
