I Just Want A Cure Dammit, Near Breaking Point :(

I normally lurk the impact section and check the new treatments section every two months, to hold onto my sanity. I'm NW2.5/3 and I'm using finasteride with sides (3 months in). I've made another thread about finasteride but I need to vent about this sh*t. I've been losing hair since I was 17/18 (22 now) and every year for the past three years I have at least one mental breakdown per year. I've checked out most of the treatments, still no news from shesido, I really hope they pull through.

Despite knowing new treatments are on the horizon I can't help but seem to reach my limit every few months. Shesido should maintain but there'll be no point if I'm a cueball by the time they release their treatment.

Pretty much the story of my life but it was 13 years ago, new treatments were also on the horizon, 13 years on finasteride waiting, still waiting
I hope you'll not have to wait that long tho.

pretty crushing looking at threads 2007 with people telling each other the cure is just behind the corner.
still, at least shiseido/replicel is showing promise and their product should be out by late 2018 if things go according to plan (admittedly they rarely do when it comes to hair loss)

I'm optimistic but it can be hard sometimes, specially when you have aggressive hairloss.

How is your crown and midscalp? But I hear ya man, having agressive hairloss is like a ticking time bomb. Some days I feel okay in the mirror, others I just wanna buzz my head and move on...

My crown has pretty good density, I just recede from the front. I mean it's still sh*t since I'm losing hair. Two years ago I thought I would be nw6 so I guess it could be worse in some ways.

Same routine, got diffused thinning all over scalp but stronger in 3V pattern. If not under lighting, looks almost like a temple less full head. If under lighting, hair disappears on crown and forelock. Spend time walking between four different mirrors in the house to verify different angles before leaving the house. Then wind hits it immediately and it doesn't matter anyway. Sometimes I think just shaving it all off will remove the psychodrama even if my hair isn't "that" bad yet where it's a necessity.

Them feels bro. Throughout the day I'm constantly in the harsh bathroom light with another smaller mirror analyzing my crown at all angles. It has drastically improved, but some parts are still see-thruish, and I feel like people are fixated on that when they see me.

I still see my hair a few times in the mirror (small mirror) but I position myself so that I can't see my face. Yeah I'm a little fucked up from all this.

It's the not knowing that plays with my mind. Are they looking at me through attraction/curiosity or are they staring at my see through hair? A mix of both? Would love a treatement that restored full density to remove the doubt. Or just shave it brah. Such is the thought cycle.

Get a transplant for piece of mind for the next few years

I've thought about getting a transplant but they seem to be a hit and miss. I think I have a good donor area as my crown is still pretty thick. Also I'm broke right now but should have a full time job by the time I graduate, which is nearly two years away.

Not with a decent surgeon. If hair loss is taking a mental toll on you that much I think it is a good idea for you

It has taken a huge mental toll on me tbh but since starting finasteride I've not obsessed over it as much, I mean I still look in the mirror at my hairline but I've not had a mental breakdown yet. Just not a fan of the sides, hopefully they'll go away once I lower the dosage. The thing is when I speak to my dr or someone else , they just say the usual ''it's not that bad'' ''bald men are attractive'' so basically cope sh*t.

I hear that in Turkey they have some decent clinics.

Yeah finasteride sides can be ***. There are a few good clinics in Turkey & also sh*t ones. Have a read through the transplant section.

remind me of my former self, until I had my first transplant at 23.

it will get more difficult, but you learn to adapt and develop skills in coping.

Few break downs a year, suicidal thoughts. Fairly normal.

Only advice i can give is to land a good job and transplant your dome.

f***. Any sides?

Also, OP, its over, buy a wig. These people that start balding at age 17 just cannot be saved, get a wig tbh.

Sides hit about a year ago with i reach 30 (started finasteride at 18, hairloss started at 15, fom 15 to 18 Minoxidil), f*****g never ending tiredness, and starting to get slight ED, erections are possible, but something changes, i would say like 60-70% of max...i'll have hormonal checkups results in about a week
I kind of shitting myself actually
Seems lucky i got my 20's with no problems

I've been tired for longer than I can remember. Always cold and foggy. I go to sleep at 4 am because I feel better when everyone else is asleep. I wake up like sh*t.

How's the hairloss? If I was good looking I wouldn't have these problems. Even if these problems can be measured in terms of unfit thyroid and whatnot, they would be automatically solved if I woke up with good looks.
