Hi all,

I am thinking of going on rogaine foam and propecia very soon. I have quite noticeable thinning on my vertex now and generally everywhere where the "horseshoe" hair isn't. There is still hair in these parts it's just that under a light it is quite noticable that it's very thin generally all over.

The thing is I have a syndrome called Gilbert's Syndrome which affects the liver so I am wondering whether propecia will be a good idea? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

That would be a good question for a Dr. if ya ask me. The chances of someone on this forum with the same condition are pretty slim and if you ask me, I think it would be a bit of a risk to trust the online opinion of a regular Joe without giving any consideration to a Dr's opinion.

I spoke to a Dr last night and he informed me that there is no problem taking Propecia with Gilbert's Syndrome.

He also said that he could supply me with a years supply of proscar for £80 (as generic finasteride) or branded stuff for £120 - also a years supply.

He said he's been on the generic stuff for 14 years now and it is up to me which I go with, saying there's not much difference between the two. Having said that is £80 for a years worth of generic finasteride a good price and also why are not more people on this having said that?
