Hi, I have been on finasteride 1mg for about 4 months. I am 21 years old.
I am almots certain that my libido has been reduced.
i dont get morning wood, even if i drink a lot of water before going to bed
when my gf kisses me, i dont get hard anymore, even if i touch her leg or something (i am a virgin)
i dont ever feel like masturbating, and when i look at naked women on the internet, i dont get hard.
when i am masturbating, if i stop touching it for 3-4 mins it starts going soft
when i masturbate, my sperm is watery
its really hard to get an erection using my imagination, i have to play with my penis a lot, and it takes a long time.
i am really afraid

the thing is, i am not sure if its finasteride.

before starting finasteride i didnt take a picture of my libido, so im not really sure how it was before. But i do remember that i had less desire to masturbate.. also i didnt have morning wood every day, just sometimes
since last week i have started to cut finasteride in 2 to see if things get better, also started taking zinc, and just know i have decided to some kind of physical activity

i am thinking that it might be all in my head, since i think i have been having sides since the day 1 (i dont think that is even posible)

Should i quit finasteride, or take it a for more time and maybe sides will go away?

also, i noticed that my libido started to increase around month 4 i think, but now its gotten reduced again.

last month, i used to wet my underware when i made out with my gf, without having full erections.

well

what do you guys think?

You creamed yourself just from making out with your gf? Wow, impressive! Thats never happened to me.

I have a feeling your first time will be pretty short! Dont worry, it gets better after that.

Anyway, it's up to you to decide if you think your problems are in your mind or real. The mind can absolutely cause these problems, but so can finasteride. Unfortunately there isn't really an easy way to distinguish between the two.

I would recommend staying the course for a little longer to see if things get better from continued use. If not, maybe try coming off finasteride for a couple weeks to see if it gets better.

You're too young to be suffering from a lack of morning wood

Doctors normally test whether or not ED is psychological by leaving a breakable band of material round the penis whilst the person sleeps, the sub concious doesn't worry about performance. If a person doesn't get wood in the middle of the night (and this sort of includes morning wood) then there's a physiological problem, which could be brought on by a shift in hormones.

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Why_do_men_wa ... n_erection

If you drop finasteride for a week the effects on hair will be negligible, you do get get a reflex response, i.e because your body has adapted a change in hormones can seem quite different, so you will seem hornier.

But it's worth testing to see what happens.

If you do find out it's the finasteride you could always lower the dose.

i say drop the finasteride.
You're young, and you still havent experienced sex yet. Do you really wanna risk never having sex because of your hair?
There are plenty of people who take finasteride and never experience these side effects, but if you are one of the unlucky ones that do, I wouldn't hesitate to quit.
