If a person with no hair loss issues uses Rogaine, what will be the effect?

I am thinning hair on one side of my head but the other side is completely thick and healthy. If I use Rogaine on the healthy part Will it cause problems or if I stop well lose more hair on the healthy side.

A theoretical question would be if someone with no hair loss and healthy roots uses Rogaine Will they be dependent on it and will the hair actually fall out if Rogaine is discontinued on the healthy side?

Rogaine will not hurt your healthy hair. The hair you would lose after discontinuing the product would only be the hair that was propped up by the minoxidil. If you discontinue treatment your hair will shed to the point where you would have been if you never started treatment at all. I don't mean you would go back to where you were pre-treatment, it would just go to the point where you'd be at right now if you hadn't used Rogaine.
