If Finasteride Causes Prostate Atrophy, Then Why Doesn't It Cause Penile Atrophy?

Serious question that popped to my mind.

If finasteride has the ability to cause prostate atrophy, then why we find it hard to believe when someone says that finasteride caused his penis to shrink?

I will start finasteride soon but this question came to my mind and I can't find an answer to it

it does ........ when I was 18, before starting Finasteride and later Dutasteride ... my pen was 18cm long ....... after it was only 14-15 cm ...
I really didn't mind, because it was the price for keeping my hair.

I took very high dose, it's unlikely to happen if you take "normal" dose like 0.5 or 1mg Finasteride.

Yeah, it can shrink your peen. There was a mouse study on this. Granted, the dose was extreme.

How come this is uncommon? Prostate which is androgenic tissue gets shrunken in every finasteride user, so why don't we seen penile androgenic tissue atrophy that common?

Everything I've read regarding trans HRT says "use it or lose it".

Prostate is influenced directly by androgens so any form of reducing androgens will shrink the prostate.

Penile tissue is maintained mechanically with spontaneous and nocturnal erections. If you still get morning wood and random boners then you're fine. If you lose those entirely then you're at risk of atrophy. You can minimize atrophy by intentionally getting erections - some people say at least once a week, other report shrinkage even with once per week and they recommend once per day. Please note that I have not found any studies or scientific evidence for this, it's just "common widsom" on trans boards.

Testicular atrophy is caused by low LH and FSH levels (mostly LH). This is only an issue if you're taking something that downregulates the HPG axis like cypro, leuprolide (GnRH agonist), or high doses of E.

Do neurosteroid levels go back to normal after someone quits finasteride normally or do levels in the spine stay low even after? I am on .125mg but I am not sure its enough to help, and the neurosteroid stuff worries me more then going bald.

I don't show, I haven't checked. Seems like they should, DHT certainly does
