If finasteride is giving you sides.....

Hey fellas,

I was taking finasteride for about 4 months before i started seeing sides and even after lowering the dosage i still experienced the same sides. (wen from 1.25mg day to 0.75mg per day)

My question is, what other anti androgen do you recommend i use now?

At the moment im using

AM: Rogaine Foam/fish oil and multi
PM: minoxidil 5% and nizoral eod

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

People say topical spironolactone.

Why not just continue finasteride? I'm chemically castrating myself every day taking this stuff. I don't care about my penis anymore.

Wessneijder I have seen a few of your last posts and it seems that your are giving very bad, biased information and viewpoints

If finasteride isn't working for you simply stop, it seems like you are being a martyr by continuing finasteride to f*** yourself up even more, if finasteride doesnt workout for you, simply stop and 99.99% of the time you will go back to normal

For the original poster, you could look into RU, or CB (Experimental treatments harder to get)

Or try out spironolactone and revivogen together (this is what I plan on doing if I start getting sides from finasteride)

People with finasteride sides have reported going to avodart .25mg with no sides.

Nex you're right. I'm taking finasteride despite the sides and it's really ruining my sex drive, but people still look at me the same that my hair is intact.

It's a painful sacrifice to make.

Wess, if it is just temporary sexual dysfunction and you are willing to sacrifice it to save your hair and if this is what you want that is fine

But to say that you are chemically castrating yourself, ie. you are suffering severe sides that could be permananet you should think long and hard about whether to drop the finasteride (in this case I definitely would). I know it is hard, but if people don't accept you for being bald they were never really your friends in the first place. Now I know what you are thinking, you have heard that a thousand times before, the reason you have heard it so many times before is because it is the truth.

Nex, I think I was overreacting. I just had a one night stand last night on my third night of finasteride and no problem busting my load. I really think cutting the pill into 1/5ths instead of 1/4ths has helped so far.

I just hope the build-up doesn't cause me to get bad sides.

Thanks for looking out for me. I've taken finasteride before for 3 months and I quit from sides; after which I made a full recovery. This time, I'm giving it one more shot; I can stop today if I want.

i will look into spironolactone, however i am in Australia, is it easily accessible from here?

any more information/advice would be great as i need to get a new regimen sorted asap.

wess, i totally disagree with your viewpoint howver each to their own and thanks for the input. stop tkaing finasteride if its giving u sides
