If I stop Propecia, will the shedding stop too? Might my hair also begin to naturally grow back?

I talked to my dermatologist and she says that she's never heard of Propecia causing shedding. I know this forum is not validated by any scientific research, but I believe what I read on here and that my greatly progressed loss of telogen hairs is a result of Propecia. I noticed it falling out in about early June. It's now mid-September. My scalp is very obvious now, and I just don't feel like the same person anymore. I feel depressed at times. I have really lost all hope of it growing back, or at least of it stopping from falling out any more. Does anybody know that if I stop taking Propecia, the shedding will stop and my hair will naturally regrow? I'm just 18 and my hair was thinner on top as compared to my sides. At that time, I thought it was too thin and should start taking Propecia. In retrospect, I was totally fine. No one noticed anything, and even I had to look at my head closely to notice that the hair was thinner on top. I just want this all to stop; I don't know if continuing with Propecia is the best route or if stopping it is better.

I have exactly the same question- see my post on Finasteride induced Telogen Effluvium. I don't want to be one of those guys who just gets progressively diffusely thinner.
I've only taken Propecia for a month and wonder if it wouldn't be best just to cut my losses now.

Risks involved

Neuro, I'm not a doctor or anything, but since you're only 18, propecia seems like a drastic intervention, you might want to consider that in deciding whether to stop. These drugs can have serious side effect, I realized this when I decided to try Prozac since I was slightly depressed. It worked, but the damn medicine made my most important organ not function properly, it was really scary and fortunately wasn't permanent. I figured I'd rather be depressed than to have that not work. I also had a very good friend who got very seriously and permanently screwed up by psychiatric drugs. Overall, I think people, and especially Americans tend to take these medications too easily and downplay the side effects. I don't mean to identify a particular nation but the fact is that in America they give antipsychotics to thousands of children for behavior problems (WTF?), I would definitely not use any hormonal treatment at your age if I was you. Don't mean to scare you though, good luck.
