hiya guys, i was wondering how long propecia takes to completely get out of the system after stopping taking it.

I have a fertility issue. im only 20 years old but i carried out the first of two tests with that home fertility kit (BABYSTART). It came back negative. I have been reading up on infertility, and it does say scar tissue can cause it, and people who have had hernia operations. I have had a hernia operation and another one on a hydrocele on my testicle. I am also considering that maybe propecia cud be contributing as i think DHT is linked with sperm concentration, i think?

Anyway i was gonna stop taking propecia and do the next test a few days later just to see if it has an effect.

Andrew,

You mean your sperm count has decreased? I don't think you will become infertile by taking propecia.

Did you take tests BEFORE taking finasteride to compare your count with your most recent one?

^no. il have to see what the doctor says, il let u all know. thing is, since taking propecia at about the 5 week mark or so, my semen got soooo shitty and runny, nd is literally see thru water sumtimes.

before propecia i used to have thick semen and lots of it. now in las few weeks on top of it getting runny, its also gone alot less of it, maybe even 1/4 or a 1/3 of what it shud be?

before u take this test u gota ejaculate into this cup, after not ejaculating for 3 days. so there shud be alot of it, when i did it it suprised me how watery it was and there was hardly any of it.

im trying to find info on the internet, if uv had herenia operations etc.. down there, that is also ment to cause infertility if u have some tubes blocked. iv had one operation on a hyrocele on my testicle and one hernia op.

was on dutasteride, then on finasteride, back on dutasteride. have had a hydrocele on the left operated on. sperm counts still far higher than normal. ( had them tested due to the hydrocele :) )

^did u have the hydrocele before dutasteride and finasteride?

yeh thats a long shot for that being the cause, coz the doctor wud have to be very imcompetent to f*** ur sperm up.

my sister spoke to sum1 at the hospital shes a physio at and the dude sed hes herd of a case study where propecia caused a reduced sperm count and he is gonna produce all info about it to her asap. He sed that theres not many case studies on younger people and so maybe it hasnt been suggested before or summin.

thing is, in the phase 1 trials, did they actually look at how if affected semen, as they check how it affects the body? i dont know.
