If this isn't diffuse thinning, what is it then?

While my hairline remains intact, the top, which I assume it's the crown region, especially on the right side, looks like total sh*t. I have to use this stupid combover otherwise it will show more than usual. Telogen Effluvium couldn't have caused permanent loss of follicles, could it?

Even though I may have experienced some regrowth after my telogen effluviun rounds, I fear that it might have unmasked diffuse thinning. As you can see, my crown looks like crap. It's not even a crown lmao. And look, it's not the way I comb my hair I f*****g swear. No matter how I comb or brush it ends up like that, it's simply unmanageable.

Would it be good to start with a low dose of finasteride? No baldies in the family. Not that it matters anyway.

It might stay like that for decades though. You have no idea if you have miniaturization there unless you get proof with a hair densitometer. I don't think there is a single forum member on here who would be upset if they had your density in the crown. Please go to a hair loss specialist and get a better opinion. Don't go to some dermatologist.

By hair loss specialist you mean a trichologist? As I told you, I went to one in 2020 and they tried to scam me with vegan sh*t and omega 3 pills. They didn't say anything about miniaturization, just that my pattern wasn't that of an individual suffering from male pattern baldness. The dermatologists I went to were useless to since they didn't even have trichoscopes.

Apparently I'll have to make a move by myself, as many others did here on this forum

Go to a hair transplant doctor who actually uses a densitometer. You might have to fly somewhere to do it. I am not taking about a trichologist either. Google it.

With all my experience I would say you don't have male pattern baldness at this point and I would just watch it every six months. @Mr. Slap Head opinion?

Living in this hellhole of a town (actually the whole country is a shithole) being a broke college student and coming from a low-income family I can't afford such thing. From my 18's onwards life has decided to f*** me every f*****g day, leaving no space to breath at all. If a god exists, what I doubt, he's probably laughing at me right now with its game, but little does he know that I'm not a pussy

I'll keep my eye on it, as I've been for the past 2 years since T.E destroyed my hair

I wish you had better financial circumstances but at this point I don't think you have anything to worry about. You have one of the best heads of hair on this forum and I really think your decision to watch it is the best one. I will always be happy to give you my opinion. If you had a strong family history I would be telling you something different. I come from male pattern baldness on both sides so I am lucky I have what I have at my age. And you have better hair than I did when I was your age so you have a much better chance of never having hair loss until you are middle aged.

Doesn’t really seem to warrant treatment. I agree with house, keep an eye on things every few months. You should be calm and relaxed because even if it is balding you caught it early! I also think it could just be naturally low density that some brown people seem to have sometimes

Monitor it and see if it gets worse over time, if it does, start finasteride, that's what I did because I wasn't sure that I was balding when I first noticed hair loss.

This dude got the hairline of a damn monkey geeez.....hes a monkey that discovered his totally normal crown for the first time and think hes balding, please get off this forum.
Okay, dude. I don't need to have Dr. Willy's hairline to prove that I'm losing my hair. Not everyone starts losing on their hairlines, right?

Nonetheless, I appreciate your comment.

Crown balding is the worst, It's quite hard to monitor because it isn't super obvious till a lot of density is lost.
