I was told that if you made it past 35 without significant hair loss, chances are youre not going Bald. Is this true?

no, but the chances of keeping it for when it matters most have already been accomplished

I'd say, if a guy is 35 years old and has absolutely ZERO hair loss, still has a deadstraight hairline, he won't go bald, ever. He may lose some hair and end up being a Norwood 3 at 80 or something. The chances for those guys to be very bald are slim to none. An example is Adam Lambert, he won't go bald.

He might be on finasteride.. Who knows. :)

You are never safe from going bald at any age but most people that tend to be high NWs tend to starting losing hair in their teens or early twenties and then progress very rapidly. However, if you don't have the genetics to go bald chances are you won't. I think maybe around 50 to 60 you can get some idea of where you will be in the future. Most people by the age of 40 are going to show some amount of hair loss. Age 35 is still way to young to predict your final outcome in my opinion.

Might be the case. But if you would look at people who had ZERO hair loss at the age of 33-ish, history tells us that they don't go to a fullblown NW5-NW7. Even more so, most keep A LOT of hair and some of them only go to NW3 very late in life. Examples are Jozef Stalin and Ronald Reagan. They had practically ALL their hair. Stalin did have involutional alopecia (which isn't hair loss, just that hairs become finer over time), Reagan didn't even have that!

Other examples, Brad Pitt, Kurt Russel, George Clooney, Sam Elliott, Jared Leto, Christian Bale (the latter two are in their 40s but still).

It is quite clear, to me, that men with such great hair at that age won't go bald in general. They might lose some density at a high age, have a bit recession, but nothing that significant until they're VERY old and sometimes not even that.

Ok @35 i experienced some hairloss but very minimum. Like i said i noticed increased shedding lately. In march i'll be 41 YO.

Both of my grandfathers had advanced thinning hair but werent bald. My dad has full, thick set of mane and he's 77. All of my sisblings have decent amount of hair and theyre older than me.

Guess time will tell ?

I feel like if you make it to age 50 with a solid Norwood 2, you're probably not gonna get any worse than like a Norwood 3. Of course, there is still always the chance to lose a lot more than that.

I meant high age, but it doesn't say anything about an individual. You can find at least one man who did have a full head of hair at 40 and still progressed to a horseshoe pattern. It's just not common at all. The rate at which you go bald is unpredictable, but most people who go bald very fast start to lose it in their late teens/early twenties. I have never seen a man with a full thick head of grey/white hair at 50 that went completely bald, never!

You do seem to have great genetics (again can't tell for sure), keep an eye on it and start finasteride if you think it's getting out of hand.

Mine too. He had great hair at 40, but at 50 he has an isolated forelock with no crown thinning. Still a hell of a lot luckier than me and my bro who started diffuse thinning in our early to mid 20s, both approaching NW3V by age 26.

first, book an appointment with a credible hair restoration surgeon or dermatologist. Have your hair closely examined through a miniaturization test.

this will give you an indicator if you have hair loss, and where you are destined to become.

After that, it's up to you to decide whether medication is something you would like to commit to. I wouldn't just hop on for no reason.

What Norwood was he at 40? What Norwood was he at 50? To me full head of great hair means NW1.

my dads friend had a perfect norwood 1 at age 40, my dad at this age was a solid Norwood 2, fast-forward 20 years my dad still has great hair and his friend is completely bald on top. He legitimately went from a flawless head of hair to stark bald after the age of 40.

Not true, my stepdad had a full set of hair most of life and didn't start thinning until his 60s
