I've been shedding heavily for approx 10 years. My hair dresser had me on many expensive anti-shedding shampoo products which didn't seem to help (like Nioxin). I found a shampoo and scalp med on line called Thymuskin that seemed to help a little, but it's way too expensive to use on a regular basis. Last December I went to my doctor to discuss my concerns. She did blood work and found nothing wrong, nutrition, hormones and thyroid all normal. She suggested stress could be the problem. She also recommended I try Rogain for women along with hair growth supplements. So I'm using Rogain and I'm taking Provolus orally along with other vitamins. I've been on this regimen now for nearly 9 months. I thought it might be working at first, but my hairline is really getting higher and really thinning. Neither of my two older sisters or mother seem to be having this problem, so I don't think it's genetic. I'm afraid to stop using the products in case it IS actually helping or at least slowing down the rate at which I'm losing hair. On the other hand, what if it is just making the problem worse? I recently lost my job and no longer have insurance, so going back for more testing isn't an option right now...I'm only 40, and really getting scared. Any suggestions?
