Hi Rita,

I feel your pain and know exactly what you are going through. I've been loosing hair for 2 1/2 years now...so I know how hard it can be at times trying to come to terms with our hairloss. I'm very sorry to hear about the pain and itching that you are experiencing with Rogaine. I have never used rogaine, but I have a male friend who has been using Rogaine for over 8 years now. Products like Emu Oil, Aloe Vera, and folligen lotion seems to help with his itching. I think most of these products are readily available through the net.

Hang in there, you are not alone. :)

Hi Rita,

Sorry to hear about what you are going through. Just last night I stared at my diffuse loss for what seemed like an eternity, when I should have been studying (it's okay though, I aced my final :))

As for the irritation from minoxidil, Maya, BruceLee, Lillith and even Giggsy I think have given some good suggestions.

To round it up once more:

Tricomin
Folligen
Emu Oil
Nizoral
Aloe Vera
Tea Tree Oil (just a bit though in your shampoo I believe)

Good luck with everything, and like Lillith said, hang in there, you definitely are not alone. I hope you can find the support you need here and offline :)

first of all.......Rita, I know you are freaking, but please remind yourself that you are not losing your femininity!!! You are still YOU, honey!!!

second, please understand that you will have a hard time regrowing hair on an irritated scalp. I would actually suggest cutting back on the Rogaine (and go from 5% if you are using it to 2%). Your scalp needs to recover here. Use Nizoral shampoo and go to the health food store and buy some Jason Therapeutics Thin to Thick Conditioner with biotin. It should help soothe things. Be very cautious with irritation because it can make the situation worse. Rogaine really made me a mess, lots of itching.

if it is falling out in a severe way, please go in to see the Doctor. You need to take some control here with what is happening because worrying and freaking will not help and can make the situation even worse. We all know here how you feel and it sucks!!! Hang in there and try to see the options and the power that you really do have here. It's hard, but it's there. Peace.
